I agree, like in May or June when we are all looking slim and trim (I hope!). I am in the middle of the country so I say everyone comes to Iowa

I guess I should consider myself lucky, no preop procedures other than nothing after midnight the night before. The cleansing does not sound fun. But everything we have all gone through will be worth in a few short months.. keep your eye on the target!

Well, I got my cardiac clearance today, so I am still scheduled for Monday (12/8).  Just three more days to go.  I swear I want to chicken out every few hours.  If I think about it I freak out.  I just keep thinking of what I tell my daughters.  Break it down into little pieces, and it will all work out in the end.  I didn't do a will though, I don't think I have time, so I will just hope for the best.  I did make a tape for my husband and kids trying to explain why I am doing what I am doing.  Just in case the worst happens.  GOD!  Wish me luck!  Please say a prayer for me as I am doing for all of you.  ((( hugs )))

I will say a few for you. When I really start freaking out I just go to the page with all the before and after pictures and daydream that maybe some day my pic will be on there.
You will be fine, so will I, so will everyone else. This surgery is done hundreds of times a day all over the US.
Have faith and let us know how it goes, we will all be anxiously awaiting!

Hugs back at ya!

Well... Friday night I hardly slept at all: I had just learned my date was a day EARLIER and I was in a fluster with my lists of things to be done: compressing it forward!

Last night I slept much better and dreamt that I ate not one but TWO meals before remembering that I was supposed to be on the liquid preop diet.  Not only that, one of the meals was Steak Tartar (raw ground beef with raw egg)!!!  (Something I never eat)...

Now, to be fair, I had been emptying my fridge of the last few items and that included and egg for each dog (3)... so I don't think this was a "Craving" dream: just a tired psyche!

Today is "last laundry day" then I will take a long bath, sleep in immaculate sheets, and get through tomorrow (work, dogs to kennel, moving a few miles down the road to my folks house where I will be post op for a week or so) and be right and ready for TUESDAY morning!

By a week from now, I expect to be "home" (at the folks) sip sip sipping "like the queen of England", walking lengths of their house, if not their driveway (?), resting and repeating...  Well on my way to the me I have always felt I was on the inside.

Thank you all for your support and sharing and encouragement.

My surgery is in 5 days and I have major butterflies in my gut.  I have other stress and grief issues going on right now too along with the anxiety of upcoming surgery, so basically, I'm a basket case!  I'm guessing I'll have to be sedated on some good drugs on the day of my surgery, so whatever they wanna give me is okay with me!  As they say, "better living through chemistry".

Hi everyone, I am being banded december 19th and I was nervous but not anymore. I am on my pre-op liquid diet and its not as bad as I thought it was going to be. I think the key was for me that I am totally committed and my mindset is right where it should be. I dont listen to anyone negative at all, and my family and my fiance are super suportive of my decision. I am anxious and hope that it comes quickly so that way I can start to heal so that I will feel somewhat human on xmas!! goodluck to everyone on there surgery dates.
