I need some advice

I am considering WLS and have been for quite some time.  I am in school full time and work full time as well.  I am currently trying to quit smoking and having a bit of a hard time.  I only have two semesters left in school and I was planning to have the surgery while off for summer break.  I would have one full semester left to finish afterwards but I will be either at work or school 7 days a week. I am worried that I am going to be taking on too much.  I am stressed very easily and I have to finish school by next december.   My health is not the greatest either.  If anyone has been in the same boat or if you have anything you could add to help me make this huge decision I would really appreciate it.   I need to get the ball rolling sometime very soon if I am going to do it.  I am a bit worried about being successful at the 6 month supervised diet thing for insurance.  Thankyou so much in advance!

Hi!  I am pre-op but I have a LOT going on so that part I can relate too.  I have a home daycare and I care for several families children.  I haven't taken the greatest care of myself because I always had someone else to care for.  I didn't want to put the families in my care out.  I HAVE to work.  Well, this year I decided was the year I was doing this.  I have dieted for 40 years and failed.  I decided that I had to make a change.  If I had done this years ago I could have lived a lot happier life.  Without all of this weight and all of my comorbidites.  I'm not trying to talk you into WLS.  That is a personal decision only you can make.  However, if your health is not good and I am assuming you are fairly young if you are going to school.  Its a great time for you to start doing SOMETHING about it.  Put yourself first and put your health at the top of your tado list!
I went through the 6 month supervised weight loss and I even have a form I can e-mail you to help with your documentation.  I got it from another OH member and I have passed it on to several people who have been aproved after using the form.
If this is something you want to do don't put it off until you are so unhealthy that you can't have the surgery.  If surgery is too much for you to consider then get on a program or get a trainer or something.  But put you first!
I hope I helped!
Hugs
Kim

Oh thanks Kim!  You are absolutely right....I need to put my health first.  When it's put that way it makes it easier to make a good decision. I will keep reminding myself of that.  It so easy to get caught up in the rat race and forget to take care of the most important thing....YOURSELF!  I really appreciate you taking the time to respond.  I would  really love for you to email me the form you spoke of.    How can I get you my email privately? Thankyou so much!  Also a ton of good luck to you.
