HEY.. IT IS OUR MONTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm going on December 9th for Lap RNY in New York. Can't believe I will be in a hospital bed one week from tonight recovering. I think we all picked a great month for this - everyone else is so wrapped up in their Xmas partying, present shopping, etc. and all we OH'ers want is a complication-free surgery and speedy recovery, right? It's all about priorities.
I actually like the contrast of being on liquids, etc. while my co-workers are digging into yet another tray of eggplant rollatine or lasagne over sterno. To think how I used to load my paper plate up right along with them. By the time they emerge from their cocoons on January 5th, we'll all be pounds lighter and they'll be like, "huh?"
It all ends now, right now, THIS December, THIS year. This is our month folks. Hold your head up high and draw comfort from each other. I know I am. You will all be there virtually holding my hand as they wheel me in, and I will virtually hold yours.
Think of Russell Crowe in "Gladiator" in the Colisseum, barking at his band of prisoners to "HOLD TOGETHER" and "AS ONE!". Indeed when they stuck together, the enemy could not defeat them. It was a movie about one person, doing the right thing. We are all too, just one person, doing the right thing.
