Surgery Dec. 30th, anyone else?
Hi, Ya the day is coming up fast isn't it? I am eating whatever I want still, I don't have to do a pre-op diet. I guess I am one of the lucky ones as far as that goes. I did go out for the one last Friday night fish fry though! We hadn't done that in a very long time and there is a small restaurant in our town that has great fish fry. Last Friday was the last Friday I didn't work before surgery so we went out. I have tried two protein powders. One was from GNC, tasted good, but a bit pricey for my budget right now. The other one is from Wal-Mart, that was a lot cheaper and didn't taste bad at all. I also took my vitamin list from the surgeon's office and bought my vitamins so I have those lined up. How long a pre-op diet do you have to be on? How is that going for you?

Hey Beth!
Lucky you for no pre-op diet! Mine started on the 16th, and consists of protein drink meal replacements for breakfast & lunch, and a sensible dinner which consists of 4-6oz of protein, 4oz of grain, and unlimited green veggies. So far so good! My last meal was on the 15th and I had pizza and wine... nothing glorious since the roads were icy and I didn't exactly plan anything.
I got my protein powder from Super Supplements- the Syntrax Nectar protein was $35. It is delicious! I got the Chocolate Mousse flavor. You can get a free sample on si03.com (just submit your mailing address) and they'll send you samples in the mail in about a week, along with a catalog of their products.. It was cheaper for me at SS.
Wooooooooooooooooo I can't wait for the 30th! In the OH.com chat yesterday, someone mentioned hitting up the smaller size clearance racks just after Christmas, and stocking up on smaller sizes. How exciting! Have you thought about doing that yet?
