Thanks to people like you !!! It was nice to hear from someone to give us the extra boost of encouragement.,  I am so looking forward to having that better life.

You're all very welcome!  I know before I had surgery that I wanted to hear the successes of those before me.  It helped me immensely to know that I was facing a challenge that would only make me stronger, happier, more confident and most of all healthier! 

Cheers to all of you who've made the choice to take back your lives!  The things that await you are  numerous, WONDERFUL opportunities that will only enhance and lengthen your lives!

My LapBand surgery is scheduled for 12/9/08.  Dr. Kim is doing my surgery at the Wise Regional Health Center,  I've just turned 65 and am sure I have no other choice for having a healthier life.  I know that without the surgery, that what remains of my life would be torture.  I have thought of everything that Brenda discussed...and more.  I have plans to fly to North Caroling from Texas two weeks after the surgery to spend Christmas with my son and his family. I've already told them I will be on a blenderized diet.   I bought the tickets prior to scheduling the surgery.  I keep wondering if I should forego the trip even though I would lose the money that I spent for the tickets.  My worry is probably having to lift something that may be over 10 #s.  My daughter and her family are excited for me and my life partner sometimes complains about all the changes but then she says this is really helping her too to pay more attention to how much and what she is eating.

Hi Brenda:

I am so glad I read your posting as it has made me feel a lot better about this whole process. I am scheduled for surgery on 12/26/08 and as you mentioned was having doubts and playing the "what if" game.

I know I have made the right decision and am trying not to let me nerves get the better of me at this point.

Thanks for thinking of those who are about to attempt their surgeries even though you don't know me, I really appreciate your words.
