Im having mine at baylor in dallas.
I wanna join too! My date is also 12/9 in near Seattle in WA state, RNY proximal, but gotta have it open instead of lap so that makes me a little nervous.
My pre-op starts 11/29 and consists of sugar free clear liquids/jello and 90mg of protein drink per day, with vitamins and calcium of course.
Good Luck to all of us! What a huge positive step in the right direction for us all!
Happy Thanksgiving,

It's just a week from tomorrow! Is everybody ready? I have my pre-op clearance tomorrow at my PCP and I am going on Saturday a.m. for my "type and screen" at the hospital. I got a scary letter from my insurance company saying essentially "Congratulations - you have been approved for a one night's stay at the hospital". I called my surgeon's office and they said not to worry - that insurance does that all the time. They "extend the approval" on a daily basis and they do it all the time. So I can relax about that. I am very lucky that my insurance is covering this, because my husband's job will not. (we checked)
My facts: I am going into the Sound Shore Medical Center in New Rochelle New York at 6:45 a.m. They said I will be home by 12/11 in the afternoon. I am neatly missing several holiday parties, the Secret Santa, etc. No one at work has a clue except my boss. I will tell everyone afterward, but I am too superstitious and don't want to hear the "but you aren't big enough" comments, 2 cents of unsolicited opinion, etc. I am merrily chipping in for all the parties and toy drives, and then I will call in sick on 12/9 - and not show up until the end of the month. Let them gossip all they want - it's my life.
I am so thrilled to have found this board and forum. Now I will know if my recovery is normal or not, if my fears and successes are reasonable, etc. If I have aches and pains and regrets, I can voice them freely to this board. How cool is the Internet? We are very lucky people and pioneers to be doing this, well out in front of most others.
I wish you, as you probably wish me, all the luck in the world. I will be checking this board up until 10 PM the night before surgery EST. I can't wait to start posting (and reading all yours) when I get home on 12/11.
Have a great last week of the "old you" - Lisa
