getting date

Do you usually get your surgery date the 1st time you see your dr. How many times do you  see your dr?
just wondering I go WEdnesday to meet him for the 1st time.
any input would be great,

You probably wont get a date until all the big test are done.but all drs have different requirements and meet insurance requirements as well

usually the tests are: psych eval, cardiac eval, pulmonary eval, sleep study, etc

Had I not gotten some test done before starting researching wls I would have to waited until next year. I had sleep apnea and pulmonologist cleared last year. I had to get a cardiac eval, blood work and a note form my pcp. I didn't have to do a six months dr supervised diet or psych eval

Then they scheduled me after my cradilogist did a stress test.


and usually they schedule preadission testing 2 weeks before surgery.


But like I said evreybody does it differently.

It also depends on your insurance what they require to get this surgery ok'd.... if it is part of your plan after the tests that you Dr requires are done, some ask for a lot and then not so many, I am only having to have a couple things done and my insurance ok'd it before I am having them done so I have them scheduled the week before the surgery...my insurance covered this surgery however it did take them two months to get to the paperwork to tell me that they were going to approve it, don't rush anything, just keep at it until you get the ok from the DR and the insurance company... never give up...
