December 2 surgery date

Thanks for the feedback guys.. I thought long and hard about it last night and made a decision to stick with my gut LOL.. I am going to continue with the bypass.. thought of the same things, do i really want to go back for adjustments, what if it doesnt work for me and i end up having to go in again for the bypass, why make my body go thru so much hell!! 

I am going with my initial decision and will let others have their opinions.. Frank I am only 5'2 and want to lose about 124 lbs so I do agree, that the bypass is for me.

Just wanted to congratulate you guys on getting your dates...I will also be having surgery on December 2...whooo hooo...I have been trying to get this surgery approved for 4 years...Good luck and God bless...I will be thinking of and praying for you while I'm in the hospital and once I get to go home...

Thank you for your prayers, and congratulations to you too!  Wow, 4 years! I'm glad that you have finally gotten your approval for it. Are you having it done lapro.? My surgeon is going to try to do it that way and hopefully it will go as planned. But I'm sure that things will be fine and we will all come out of this great. Please stay in touch!

     Welcome to those that just recently signed in. It been quiet out there; what's the matter are voices in my head too loud for everybody?  Lets get supportive!  I know I will have concerns and questions until they put me asleep.
    My "new" transfer may not work out. Besides the travel issues, they told my ex-boss that I cannot be utilized by him and he had to send me home Thursday and don't come in anymore. So I have to either use what little I had saved for the surgery or no pay. The new boss says they they should have some on-line training for me next week but unknown how long and still unsure of when and where the will need me.

Yep...laproscopic...getting myself psyched up for that 2 wk preop diet now...more worried about that than the surgery...glad you responded...hope I can stay in touch with some of the December surgery people....

I'm TRYING to get myslef psyched for the diet...lol but it's gonna be hard. I hope that we all stay in touch after the surgery as well. It will be nice to have others that have gone through the same thing at the same time and be a support for each other. Hope to hear from ya soon.

Hey guys, been out of the loop for a bit.. i was totally upset last week, I went for my endoscopy and after the procedure the doctor said he was NOT going to clear me for surgery dec 1st cause he did a biopsy of my esphogus.. he said i have esophogitis (sp??) I asked what it is he said i have ulcers in my esophogus probably from acid reflux.. i was floored.. so he put me on meds for one month, on 11-19 i go for the biopsy results, I pray its not bad and then we have to do another endoscopy dec 6th and then he will clear me.. so that means i get pushed back..

i meet with the surgeon on 11-19 as well and will see what he says about all this but i am bummed!  Well my girlfriend told me just get healthy and then start the new year off right, so i am trying to look at it that way

I really hate to hear that you are not going to be cleared for surgery, that really must have upset you. Just hang in there any everything will work out.
