Has anyone else experienced being cold after their surgery? I usually run hot, but can not stay warm now.

Hi - I haven't had the surgery yet but I have a friend who had the surgery over a year and a half ago and he complained of being cold alot the first year.  He said it was normal since you're losing all of the fat that kept you warm for so long and also due to the much lower intake of food you now consume.   I hope you don't mind my responding to your question since I don't have personal experience yet.
I have completed all of my required doctors appts and tests and have an appointment to meet with the surgeon the middle of next month and at that time I was told he would give me a surgery date.  Wish me luck and congratulations!

My boss just had her gastric bypass September 2nd.  She's had coats and heaters to keep her warm.  I will have to agree that we lose our "insulation" hence why we would be cold.

I'd love to be cold for once!  I'm always too warm.  :)

I hope that happens to me.  I am always hot!  I would love to be cold for a change!

my husband had the surgery on Feb.28 and he is still cold all the time.  I am on preop liquid diet now and I am freezing more than him.   he is hoping it gets better soon.  He wears socks all the time and keeps a sweatshirt handy.
