I am having my surgery Dec. 28th at the Methodist Specialty and Transplant Hospital in San Antonio. Has anyone had their surgery there. Dr. T. Duperer is my surgeon. Thanks all.

Nice ta hear from you. Yeah they didn't send me home with any meds except pain..they took some away which i was glad of .......Yeah cannot wait to see the skinny me....i can see alittle in my face but still puffy from all the fluids and gas the put in ........Yeah im having some trouble getting the protiens in to everything has an after taste to me. and really just not hungery. well good luck at your Dr appt and hope to hear from ya soon....

Had my RNY on 12-4-07 started at 435 hoping to lose 200lbs or more.
Doing great after 11 days,no problems whatso ever,even been eating solid food since day 7. w/Dr. ok

Rich - I wish you all the best with the clear liquids - you'll do great!! When you know it's something you have to do to get where you want to be, you'll make it! And the Lord will definitely be with you all the way... A very good time for prayer and fasting! My surgery was 12/6 and I can tell you that I just feel better every day! My thoughts and prayers will be with you for a very easy surgery and a quick and uneventful recovery!! God bless you, too!

LisaAnne - You are so right about the nasty tasting meds!!! 
I'm having to take potassium too as my level was low - and that stuff's worse than the pain meds!! 
But I'll be off that tomorrow and hopefully the levels will stay in the acceptable range now... My surgery was 12/6, but was done laparoscopically so no staples for me. I go to the dr. tomorrow and they'll take off all the steri-strips, I guess. Glad you are doing good - can't wait until we really start having that great weight loss!!

glad to hear all went well. Yes you do need to cough and use that breathing machine they send ya home with it helps. I just got my staples removed today my surgery was Dec 4th......and i'm doing pretty good dont need alot of pain meds...:P good thing they are nasty..lol well have a good one and god bless and take care

I have Tricare and there are no bariatric surgeons around who take that where I am right now and I was just wondering if gastroenterologists do the surgery or the bariatric surgeons do.
