Kelly...can you BELIEVE a year has gone by???? Of course I'll be posting a year in review on Saturday my 1 year surgiversary. 145 lbs down...about 40 more to go(my goal) but the scale is moving at snails pace for last couple of months. My scale was reading LO this week...changed battery twice...still said LO...got much pleasure throwing down the stairs. It now lives in garbage can. Top of 2morrows shopping list...New Scale!!! Looks like we're still on same track. My surgery weight was 295 and Tuesday I was at 173. Congrats surgery SISTA!!!!!!!!

Hi,
Had my surgery 12/10/07. Doing real good also. Have lost 162 lb**** goal a month or so ago. I'm 5'11 so any lower won't be very good for me. Although I weighed 145-150 all my adult life but now since I'm 50 I think this is just fine.

Thank for asking....Pam

I'm doing pretty well.  My one year anniversary will be on the 26th.  I'm down 150 pounds and feel great.  I do HATE all the loose skin though and I do know it could be better with more exercise.  I have not worked outside the home in over 3 years and I was just hired to start a new, exciting job.  I know I would not have even been considered 150 pounds ago.  I still have things to learn about nutrition and being sure I get in my daily protein and fluids, but I feel great AND my hair has come back!

How are you doing?  Congrats on your anniversary tomorrow, can you believe it's been a full year already?  Kelly in Albuquerque

Topic: RE: It's November! 11 Months and how are we doing?.....

Well, as this coming Friday I am 100lbs lost which is 8 lbs below my personal goal and only 7 lbs from having a normal bmi.  The year has flown by.

While tomorrow is Thanksgiving, dinner is only my hubby, son, daughter, dog, and I.  We have no family in the area, so we never have to deal with the craziness of holidays.  We stay home, in some cases my husband and daughter work.  This is one of the few times a year I do the cooking, most of the time hubby does.  The menu tomorrow is pretty traditional, with Turkey breast, acorn squash, cornbread stuffing, green beans, deviled eggs, and rolls.  Desserts is a cookies and cream pie for my son, and I am making a sugar free pumpking cheesecake mousse pie for me and everyone else.

I have had no complications, and I can eat just about anything I want.  I have not tried to see if I dump and do not want to know if I do or don't.  I do know that if I eat too much fat or carbs, I get a racing pulse, and then I get really bad gas.  I am now wanting to figure out how to maintain, and truly not loose anymore weight as I am happy of where I am at.

Well all happy holidays....may your season be filled with love, laughter, and family.

Wendi

I've been the same way for about the past 3 months. Hate myself. No wonder the damn scale hasn't moved in 6 weeks. I'm afraid that I'm done losing...say it isn't so.  I made a conscious effort the past few days...NO SNACKS and elliptical time EVERY DAY! The first 8 1/2 months were a breeze...then...I guess this is the real test of how determined we are.  And I have goal gifts to get...my tattoo ; Lucky jeans; Tiffany necklace(got the bracelet when I hit Onederland). Hey those should be incentive enough.

Hey Godblessedme, 67 pounds is awesome!!!  Do be an advocate for yourself with your surgeon and tell them your concerns over and over again until you get results.  I think medicine is just another consumer product and I hound my doc when I need too.  Does your doc know you're doing Medifast?

I'm a carboholic too and I was recently on a cookie binge this week.  I stopped that one (since I ate them all) and won't be buying anymore.  I have found that when I eat too many carbs, it does slow down the weight loss.  The weirdest thing I've noticed is that when I eat more, mostly protein, and get in my 64oz. of fluids, I'll lose at least one pound per day.  The carbs are just empty calories and will make you feel hungrier soon.  Protein fills you up and satisfies you longer.  Do you see a NUT on a regular basis?  I don't, as my surgery was done in another state.  I do, however, keep a food journal of every bite that goes into my mouth.  It really keeps me accountable and I can see why I did or did not lose during the week.

You're not a downer, this is a "support group" and we're here to listen and help if we can.  Don't give up.  I didn't mean to be preachy, just know that I care.   Kelly
