I am almost on your time frame my rny was on 12/26 and I am only aloud to walk and use weights and or do arm firming right now. I have my 3 week check up and they will add more then. I was told to stay off the bike until 6 weeks then go full force.

Topic: Exercise? 2 1/2 weeks post op
Just wanted to check in to see what everyone is doing for workouts post op (especially newly post op). I am 2 1/2 weeks out (12/27) and currently using my exercise bike (doing about 4 mi ... 20 min ... trying for 2x a day); also a walk during the afternoon. When I try to use my treadmill I get pain in my left side still (but I still try to do it at least 10 min daily). I can do some weights (keeping it around 15/20lbs and do only 15-20 reps. What is everyone else doing that works for you??

I went through the emotional stuff. I got soo upset when I could not do something myself and had to ask for help. My hubby was real good but was only thinking about the "When can we have...." Sometimes men are just horrible. I too have been getting about 40 oz a day in sometimes more. I go to the gym and use the treadmill every day except Wed & Sun, I am up to about 2 miles a day. I just got cleared to do Light weights no more then 25 pounds on Thursday. I have to wait 1 more month for anything heavier. I have lost 33 pounds and 20% of my over weight according to the Doc. I can tell you my upper half is smaller but nothing else. My mom said my face looks like my sister now. I guess that is good. I had to purchase bras to go back to work. That made me feel good. I only let myself get on the scale on Sundays. I keep a journal of what I do for excercise and then weigh myself on Sunday and log it. The Doc said once a month to measure myself. (wrists, legs, hips, breasts, ect...) like some of you have said you are not losing weight just inches. He said that I would feel better to see that changing if my weight is not. He also told me to bring the journal to my next apt so if there is not a huge weight loss he can see the shrinking sizes. So I guess what I am saying to everyone is keep your chin up and remember none of us are the same and our bodies are going to go thru different stages at different times. We are all here to listen to everyone and remember none of us are alone!!!

Topic: RE: Normal appetite again?????? Is this normal????
I have been visiting this website for a few months. I actually had to join so I could reply to your posting. I am 25 days out and have not had my first fill either. At about 16 days post op I noticed that hunger feeling returning. I have tried very hard to not eat anything off of the list my nutritionist provided. DO NOT beat yourself up over this, it is important for you to realize that you had WLS not brain surgery ( my doc office always says this) and it is sooooo true. It is going to take some time to adapt to this new lifestyle. Another thing to remember your lap band is not filled yet, it is simply placed around your stomach in place waiting for your tummy to heal so it can become the useful tool you need. I would like to acknowledge the fact that you are seeking out advise. Thats good. Do you have access to a nutritionist? Perhaps they can help you get back on track of your post op diet. Or if your feeling back to normal perhaps you have healed faster than what your doc thought and they can move up your fill date.

i'm also very happy that i can come in here and read about others in the sme boat having this done right around the sme time!..... hhhhhhhhhhhhhhh........... i'm still pretty tired.... some days are better than others, yesterday was a very long day, so today i just don't feel that great!, i do want to get out and take a nice walk before it gets dark....... i actually haven't seen the nut yet, so i'm really tired of the same stuff. i don't see her til the 17th, that will make it 4 weeks and 2 days!..... it's my fault really, i should ahve called much earlier to get an appointment with her, i only can go in the late afternoon cuz i have returned to work, and this was the only appointment i could get!..... and i was told DO NOT got further into another stage unless i have my nut app. i really am sticking by the rules, most days it's ok, some days it's my head that messes with me, i still stick to them but i feel like a crazy person talkin to myself in side my head all the time! i can do this i can do this! i know i can and i wil! what are you guys using to measure stuff out with once you get the more food?. are you using a scale? what kind of scale at you using?...... so far i only need the measuring cups.........i only do liquids, cottage cheese, yogert, sf jello or sf pudding or broth, or lf creamed soup. and only once per day, so i cna't have cottage cheese, then later have sf pudding, then later have,,, you get the idea! oh and sf popsicles too but only 3 sticks a day, some days i eat a few some days i don't....... i ahve tried the mysoplex lite protein drink from eas... i find them ok... i do ok with the protein and fluids........... but am ready for something else....... i don't ahve buyers remorse, just very ready to start seeing a change in my body!..... i feel impatient and i know i ahv to be, i didn't gain it over night!( god i hate that saying!) what kind of scales are you girls weighing yourselves on?... i should buy a new one as the one i have always read different numbers ever time i get on it! it frustrating, i don't think to much about it cuz if i get on the scale 4 times in a row i can have all different readings!....... it's a digital scale and i don't see how it's made by, but it's not that old!... try to stay strong everyone! we didn't go through all of this to fail right?
