I'm about the same. My pants are hanging, and my wedding ring slips on my finger. I haven't been able to move it in years Everyone says that my face shows it, though I don't see it yet. I'm still afraid it won't work and 40 pounds is all I'm going to get...

Hi guys, I've lost 40 lbs. I started loosing after my first appt with my surgeon.
I have some little worn jeans that are way to big. I also had kept some jean that had shrunk in the dryer that I could no longer wear before so that is what I'm wearing now. So glad I didn't throw them away.
I have rings that are big now and a necklace that I couldn't wear before because it was too short, I can wear it now.
My shoe laces on my walking shoes are dragging on the ground.
I love my RYN!!!!

I've lost 26 lbs. and have already had to go to a smaller pants size. Also, my wedding ring spins on my finger now!

My first fill ended up at 1.5cc in a 10cc band . . . he had 3cc's in, but my chest was tight and I was burping like crazy when I drank the water . . . so he backed it off. I go back in a month to see about another fill at that point.
My eating is 3 meals (1/2 -1 cup usually). The rules are protein first, then veggies and then carbs if there is room. I never eat bread, rice, pasta. Also, I was told for the first couple months to have a protein drink for snacks to make sure I have all my protein in . . . I've been trading the protein drink for 1/2 protein bar morning and afternoon because the bar stays with you longer than the liquid.
Good luck!

Hi! I am Joni and I had lap-band surgery on December 19, 2007 in Springdale, Arkansas. I have lost 21 pounds but I am still starving. I get my first fill next Tuesday. I went to a support meeting last Tuesday night and the doctor and nurse said I needed to be eating more instead of drinking liquid proteins. I have been having 2 SlimFast Low-Carb and then a skinless chicken breast for supper. How do your doctors deal with the first fill? Mine says he will put in 3cc and then I have to drink water and see if it stays down. If it goes down easily, then I think he might put in a little more. If it comes right back up or feels lodged, then he will take a little out.

Michelle - I believe you had lapband . . . which has a definitely different weight loss pattern than RNY, especially in the beginning. We can't compare ourselves to each other because everyone is so different, but we also can't compare ourselves to RYN. Also, men tend to lose weight much more quickly than women (so not fair!). So don't beat yourself up - just keep on track and do what you have to. There is a period where I just stalled completely at about 3 weeks out . . . drove me crazy. Things are starting to move again. Eat right, exercise, and be sure to get in the protein and water. Hang in there!
