Topic: RE: Caloric intake?
Me too... my NUT said not to count calories... just to eat protein first, don't eat and drink at the same time, no fried foods and nothing with sugar in the first 3 ingredients.
I have strayed a few times with a bite here or there.... but I would say on average I eat about 500-700 cals per day.
I am not sure how you do 200..... I am supposed to have at LEAST 60 grams of protein per day and each gram has 4 calories no matter what.... so that is 240 calories right there and that would be if all I had was straight liquid protein.

Are you sure that's not 1200-1400 calories a day?? If not, I am way OVER that...LOL
Topic: Finally over the hump
Well I finally lost some weight, it was about a week that I didn't lose anything, then I started bumping up my protein intake again and drinking a ton of water and it worked. Thanks to everyone who helped me and by the way I love the calorie counter page!

Becky, if you're not sure you should contact your doctors office to make sure. My doctor says no more than 200-400 calories a day if I recall correctly. I had my surgery Dec 18, 2007.
Good luck!

Topic: Caloric intake?
I am 2 months out with having an RNY. I was wondering if anyone has a ball park figure of the caloric intake of what you should have a day at this point?

It's been 1 year since the Lap Band Surgery and recently I have experienced gas pains just under the lap band and in the upper intestine. Has anyone else experienced this? Any suggestions for remedies?

HA I'm the same way. Have always eaten once a day ... so for me getting up to 3x a day is a miracle in and of itself LOL When I explained that to the NUT she was a little more understanding and just emphasized the need to move up to 6 times. Said that is one of the best ways to keep from regaining later. So now I literally feel like I'm eating all of the time!!!! Which makes it even harder to get the fluid in (somehow it all keeps coming back to that LOL).
Topic: RE: Didnt lose any weight this week
I drink 2 protein drinks and I try and eat cottage cheese, fish or whatever protein I can find. I average about 60 to 70 grams a day. I have just started to exercise. I joined a gym by my house that my kids can go to and I've been doing the treadmill and bike. Hope this helps!!

Make sure you are sticking to a strict vitamin and protein schedule. You may also want to up your water/fluid intake. Are you exercising? If not, start. If you are, try increasing by a few minutes each day until you've added at least 15 minutes to your routine.
Try not to be too discouraged. Stalls happen to all of us, but rest assured, it will pass.
Topic: RE: Checking In
I know what a struggle it is to eat multiple times a day. For years, I have usually only eaten once a day. My surgeon wants me eating 3 times a day. On a good day, I can get in 2, but I'm still struggling to make it to 3. He said it may take 6 months or so before I feel like 3 a day, but I'm starting to wonder if I'll ever feel like it...lol
