I'll do my best Suzanne. WOW right back! You are sneaking up on 50 lbs yourself and we had our RNYs on the same day.
Awesome.

"Only" 46 lbs?? Are you nuts sweetheart (written with kindness)?
You are also making great progress and you lapband folks have much more finessing to do (I think) to keep you weight losses going smoothly. Nice pics!
Isn't it thrilling how you can feel the changes in your daily life already? For me it's so much easier to get in and out my car. More room behind the wheel. Know what I mean?
Glad to have you on the Loser's Bench!

I had surgery on Dec. 31, 2007. I did not do any dieting before surgery, as I was right on the line...bmi of 40. Since the surgery, I have only lost 27 lbs. The first 17 I lost in the first 2 weeks. My husband had surgery on the same day, and he has lost 55 lbs. I have been quite discouraged, too, and am afraid that I will not meet my goal weight...Walking, eating protein, etc.. How much have you other ladies lost in the first couple of months?

also .. . from support groups I found out that our hormones are in our fat .. . and as we lose our fat, the hormones are shifting like crazy and we are on an emotional roller coaster. You have done a great thing .. . you will be better and your life will be better . . . and you'll find new things to enjoy. I still go out with my friends . . . I've started making jokes that I'll go . . . and they can each give me a bite of their food . . . have fun and relax and look at what you've accomplished - be proud . . . and put that smile on your face just for yourself, if for no other reason!

Not enough really. I walk about a mile at a time, but not every day. I'm in that part of the weight loss curve where the metabolism is doing most the work. But I KNOW that some consistent sweatin' is going to be required to get it (nearly) all off.
So I'm repairing a wonderful commercial model stair climber from Life Fitness. Once it's operational it will become my primary aerobic workout.
I have a exercise program put together by the Physio doc in Tuft's program that includes weight training. His plan specifies when I should use the weights and when I should do cardio. This will be my first week.
Thanks for asking about that. External motivation to get started is very helpful right now.
