Monday I did my workout DVD wearing both ankle and wrist weights this time (and chased my kids around all day since they were both home with bad colds lol)
Tuesday, again did my DVD workout ... no weights this time but did 1 1/2 miles instead of 1. And used the waist tension bands

Topic: RE: Anyone frustrated with slow weight loss???
Nycky,
I'd be frustrated as well!!! I think you are doing the right thing, to figure out how to increase your protein intake and eat the right foods... and with the lap band, isn't the weight loss much slower (yet, we all get to the same place in the end!)? Hang in there, girl! And I wish you luck and success.
I have trouble exercising, too, also have trouble walking due to arthritis, fibromyalgia, etc. I can only walk on the treadmill for 5-10min which is a HUGE improvement for me, and I do ride an exercise bike, but can also only ride that for a few minutes- it seems easier on my hips and knees than walking is.
Good luck to you!!!! You are NOT alone!

Well, I am down 32 lbs in 8 weeks, I was back to work 10 days following surgery and have not had any problems. I have been feeling tired the last couple of weeks, so I went to my Primary Care Dr. and had him order labs for me. Those vampires took 7 tubes of blood. I asked them to leave me some so I could go to work. I felt that I would rather catch any defiencies earlier than later. I love my sugar free chocolate pudding with sugar free cool whip....
It is good to see others with approximately the same amount of weight loss, as I thought I was going to slow.

You guys are really doing better than you think. Try this on for size. I have only lost 8-9 lbs since my banding on 12/14/2007. I am so disgusted with myself right now I don't know what to do. I tended to only eat 1-2 meals at all, but then I was just so hungry all the time. I couldn't stop eating for the 1st fill, now that I have had my 2nd fill, I am finally having some restriction. (thank god) I am drinking my water and have absolutely given up drinking anything else. I was drinking a lot of Pink Lemonade but I guess that just too much sugar so water it is. Also I have started taking a multivitamin finally. I don't even know how to make a protein shake or what foods would be good sources for protein intake. But I am researching it. Also I do not exercise yet as I have horrible knees, a bad back and extremely high blood pressure. Hopefully the small steps I am taking since this 2nd fill will do the trick to help me with getting this tool jumpstarted. If anyone can think of any solutions that might help I am open to them.
Until then good luck to everyone and God Bless

Topic: RE: Checking in at 9 weeks!
Hey there,
I am not quite sure that I actually broke up with my food until this week. I guess that explains why I have only lost 8-9 lbs since my banding on 12/14/07. I am really disappointed in myself. I don't do any exercise due to bad knees, bad back, and overyly hectic work and school schedules.(I currently work 2 full time jobs and am in college full time also)(I know that is insane, but you do what you have to do). I've got to do something soon though. Thursday I had my 2nd fill and now I am getting some restriction.(thank God) after that 1st one I felt like I was going to eat my arm off. I didn't eat that much before I had the band, but my god did I get the munchies after fill#1. Now I am drinking my water, laying off sugary beverages. Trying to eat the 3 times daily as instructed (that is the hard part for me I normally only eat once, late in the day and nibble on junk the rest of it.) I am still not exactly sure what to do about the protein part, but any suggestions would be helpful. I don't even know how to make a protein shake. I am hoping that once I have my port adjusted in the next 3weeks, that I will have an easier time of it. I have had some complications with my port since the beginning. It just isn't stablized so they have to go back in and re attach it a bit higher. Hopefully that won't be another scar.
Anyway Congrats to everyone and please, pray for me as I try to get on track with this tool.

Congratulations to you all.....
I am not doing nearly as well as any of you. I have only lost 8-9 lbs since my banding on 12/14/07. I have had some trouble with my port not being accessible but I have finally had my second fill. I am hoping that I can get on track now and do a lot better.
I really feel like a failure seeing how well others are doing that had their surgeries around the same time as me. I don't quite know what to do to speed up my results, but I am now getting in more water and less sugar. No more eating out for a while other than at work, but only healthy choices then. I have even started taking multivitamins like I was told. The only thing that is a problem is I don't know how to make the protein shakes. I am not even sure what are really good sources of protein to stick with.
Any ideas as to what I can do to jump start this weightloss would be helpful. Right now exercise is really hard to do because of bad knees and back, but I am determined to do something, and fast.
