Hey Girl...good to hear your update! I'm only 3 weeks ahead of you. I LOVE MY RNY!!!!! Still taking my BP med but my CPAP pressure has gone down from 15 to 9. I've gone from a size 26 to 16 and still shrinking!!! And exercise...I bought an elliptical last week. When I started...could only do 2 minutes...now up to 12-14 minute sessions;3 to 4 times/day. I LOVE MY NEW LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Topic: UPDATE--6 Months
Hi all, Okay, so I've been MIA for a while, but we all know how that goes. Life happens, stuff gets in the way and blah blah blah.....anyway.....it's been 6 months since surgery and everything is going well. So here's where I'm at with everything: Weight/Size: Down 101 pounds in 6 months!!! I've lost a total of 47 inches. My BMI has dropped 16 points, and I am now in the "overweight" category. I've went from a size 26/28 to a 14/16. I can now shop in the misses department of almost any store!!! Food: I can tolerate everything except pizza, but honestly, who needs it? The only thing I miss sometimes is soda, but that's when the sugar-free soda flavored popscicles come in handy. Health: I'm no longer on any medications, and haven't been for quite a while now. I've been fortunate enough not to have any complications or side effects from surgery. Thank goodness, no hair loss for me! The little acne problem I had early out resolved itself rather quickly too! Exercise: I usually exercise 6 days a week for a minimum of two hours. I can't believe that according to some people I know, I'm turning into the "health nut". It's a great feeling! It is so hard to believe that I've went from 20 minutes a day (every once in a while) to at least 20 miles a day almost every day. Everything looks and feels GREAT, I am soooooooo glad I did this! What about you? How's post-op life treating you? Genisis

Sounds like your weight loss is going well. Sorry to hear about the exploratory surgery though. Glad you are recovering and on your way back to good health. As for my own weight loss, I'm down 101 pounds in 6 months, and enjoying living in ONEderland! Still have a bit to go before I reach goal, but at this rate, I'll be there by October/November. I would love to reach goal before my one year surgi-versary (then again, who wouldn't...lol) Of course the loss is slowing down a little bit, but that's expected (disappointing, but expected). I haven't had any real problems, and can tolerate just about any kind of food as long as I follow the rules. Of course I am now beginning to contemplate the plastic surgey journey. Still too early to tell exactly what I'll want/need done, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to start saving up for a tummy tuck and a breast lift (or I guess what I should be saying is hubby better start saving..lol). It's hard to believe how quickly everything changes, awesome, but quick! Genisis

I just found this board and am still trying to find everything. But i just found all of you and i am 6 months out on the 13th. I am 122 # down. I still throw up about 2-6 times a week. the weight is still comming off but has slowed a lot. Not sure if that is normal or not. I feel great and cant beleve it is realy me. I lost a bout half of my hair so i am taking Biotin and that is helping. It is still thin but i think it is comming back. I am sure that i am not eating all of the right things. need to get a book. I want to make the most of life now that i have a life again. Any help will be greatly apprecated and taken to heart. Thanks to all for sharing your storys with me.

I had my surgery on Dec 17th. I feel amazing. I have lost 100 lbs and have gone from a size 24W to a 12 misses or 11/12 juniors and M/L tops. I am so happy had my surgery - my life has improved drastically....I think it's because I feel better physically and mentally.

well my six month was the 18th...... it's going well! i don't throw up, only did that once in the beginning got the foamies in the beginning too... but that is long gone most of the time my pouch is nice!. but sometimes it's grouchy i have lost 64 pounds since surgury 83 since the beginning of the program and 84 inches baby!........ whoa! that just blows my mind! i think i am the slowest loser here in the group. but when i see my incehs going down, i'm happy i've gone from wearing a 24 or sometimes a 26 to now getting into 16!. yes the old navy jeans i have on today are size 16~ they have been in a box for a few years! and i'm thrilled that they are now fitting! and i can't wait til they are too big!

RNY date 12/13, down 75 lbs so far not including 12 pre-op lbs! I'm so excited, I'm wearing 18/20's, down from 26's & 28's. I'm a size that I haven't been since 7th grade (1993)! Getting ready for my 10 yr HS reunion at the end of the summer, no-one is going to recognize me! Had a lot of what I refer to as "refunding" (puking) from 5 weeks out until about 2 weeks ago. Had a EGD (scope) done 2 weeks ago, no problems except a little gastritis (redness/swelling) in my pouch, but other than that, my doc said everything looks perfect! Hope everyone else is doing just as well, looks like those who have posted are doing fabulous! Good Luck to all! Here's to happier, healthier lives and reaching our goals!

My date was 12-17-07. I am down 82 pounds. I am so happy. Honestly, I still see the 346 pound women in the mirror. It is just so hard to grasp. I am doing well with food. There are things that make me throw up still. But, I am doing well. Shopping for clothes is so much funner. I can't imagine getting under 200 pounds. I can't remember ever being there. hahahaha The weight loss has slowed so much. I go weeks now without losing a pound. Haven't gained though, so that is good.

I am doing great... can eat and drink any and everything (sadly)... have dumped just once (chocolate chip cookie from Carl's Jr... POOR CHOICE) and have never vomitted or even felt nauseous. One year ago I weighed 347. On Sept 9th I decided to lose weight.... I lost over 60lbs and then had surgery on Dec 17th. Since Dec 17th, I have lost 76 more lbs... I am down 145lbs since Sept... from size 5XL to a L or XL and from a tight 32 to a 14 or 16.... life is great.... Now if only I could get to onederland.... grrrrrrrrrrrrrr
