I can't believe we are half way through this month! I got all my tests scheduled for 12/03/07. On 11/26/07 .....13 More days and the liquid diet begins!!!! My surgery is scheduled for the 10th. I keep trying to come up with some sort of check list to prepare my home, kids, work, schedules, task lists for my hubby and kids. Get my shopping done for the holidays... thank God for on line shopping. LOL

Hi Brian. I think that is a great question and I want to know as well! All my doc said that when I wake up -- I will not want to be his friend. He said I will have a demoral drip to use as needed and can ask for more pain reliever if needed. That indicates to me ....AAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! I'll be okay:0 I''m taking three weeks off of work, but he said some return after two weeks.

Topic: December 11th I begin my new life!
My surgery is scheduled for Dec. 11th. I am having an open RNY. I am excited, nervous, anxious, and really just CANT WAIT. I have ordered all my supplements, vitamines, and finished the grocery shopping. I need to buy a baby spoon yet. I start my portein prep the Monday after Thanksgiving (2 week liquid diet). My husband is going on a liquid diet with me to help me stick to it. He is soooooooo supportive. I couldn't do this without him. This is the best Christmas present I could imagine. More later.

My Date is December 10th also. There are quite a few on the same day through out the USA.

Hi all, 1st posting...new to OH.
I have a surgery date of December 6th. I can't wait to officially start my new life. I have been adjusting and practicing my eating habits and developing high protein low carb soups and meals.
I am wondering....could some of you please share with me what the post-op recovery was like for you during the first few days after surgery. Were you able to return to work quickly?
What about pain management? Pain?
I appreciate any feedback.

I thought that I would wait till after the holidays, plus we have two kids with December birthdays before Christmas. It was such a hassle to finally get insurance approval that when I finally got called for a date... I JUST TOOK IT! Mine is Dec. 7th. If I am in the hospital for 2 days I will come home on my son's 22 birthday. I just couldn't say no... I want it too bad. Good luck in picking a date!
