Hi Pat,
My date is set for Dec 5 also. I'm having my surgery at Depaul Medical Center in St. Louis, Mo. The surgery is being performed by Dr. Roger de la Torre. I'm excited and nervous at the same time. How about you?

Hi, there... I don't think you're being a chicken! I think it's normal to have some apprehension when going for a major surgery like this - especially when it's something you are choosing to do... I'm having some of the same thoughts as my surgery date is 12/6. However, if you have confidence in your surgeon and keep the positive thoughts going, I think you'll do fine. You might want to check with your surgeon regarding his complication rate as that might ease your mind. From what I've learned along the way it's that if you follow your surgeon's "program" and keep a positive attitude, you have a much better chance of success!! Hang in there and I know you'll do well...

I am so jazzed --I am really going to have my surgery. It seemed it was never going to happen.My doctor is Dr. Waldrep and he's great. I just wanted to share with you all. Yipee !!!!

Im so excited!! I hope the date doesnt change- AGAIN! My original date was for tomorrow so I hope I can lose weight so dr will do it for me!! 2wks pre op liquid diet is gonna stink though.

Hi all,
Been reading the posts. I guess because I am getting closer to surgery (12/10), seems like all I see is folks with pretty seroius problems after surgery; ulcers, strictures, dumping syndrome. Is the usual path post-op so riddled with land-mines?
If so, maybe I had better prepare myself and hubby for what is to come....

Well my surgery has been scheduled 3 times canceled before it was even here once. Canceled by the surgeon the day of! (because he said he was to tired from the surgery prior to mine and not having very much sleep before hand) and now rescheduled to the 17!! I'm really excited and more nervous about ti getting cancceled agian before it's even here. Also my birthday yes my actuall birthday is the 13!! So exciting!! 5 days after my birthday is my re-birthday! WOOPEE!! Good Luck Everyone and Enjoy!!
