Surgery was scheduled for Wednesday 12/5/07 but Dr. Callery's office called today and bumped it up to Monday 12/3/07. yahhooooooo!

I go on Thursday for my cardiac clearance just EKG at my Primary Care Dr. Is there anything I should be concerned about???

Hi, Kristie - I'm not having the sleeve done, but can definitely relate to your feelings of excitement and nervousness! 
I'm have the lap RNY done on 12/6 and am on day 5 of my clear liquid diet. I'm going through lots of emotions lately - excitement, anxiety, nervousness, second thoughts...but when it comes down to it, I'm sure I'm doing the right thing. I'm not real familiar with the sleeve but feel that whatever WLS option we choose is a step in the right direction to get to a healthier weight. I wish you all the best! Keep in touch!

Hi, Angela - I think all these posts have answered your question, but I just had to chime in, too. 
I find it very interesting that different surgeons require different things. Mine does require a 2 week clear liquid die****er, Crystal Light (or similar), broth, SF jello, SF popsicles and protein shakes. I think we can have clamato juice or something, too, but I don't like that stuff. I was told that the purpose of the clear liquid diet is to shrink the liver so the surgery is easier for the surgeon to perform laporasopically. But I've heard of other surgeons like yours who don't require it. I guess it must be personal preference for the surgeon. Anyway, best of luck to you when you have your surgery! Mine is Dec. 6 and I am getting very anxious!

Some surgeons require you to go on a liquid diet
2 weeks prior to your surgery date. Some do not.
Who knows why??
