My surgery is the 10th, it is now 2:32am and I'm not able to sleep. I need to start getting ready for work in 4hrs and 20mins and I'm gonna be exhausted. I'm not so much worried about the surgery as I am getting everything done before the surgery. I'll turn 57 the day of my surgery so I feel like I need to get my will taken care of before going under the knife. I bought the software to do it and have started it but what do I know about writing a will. I have a grown daughter and I'm living with my life-partner. I have taken care of the insurance and they are my beneficiaries. But then there is the house, the car and my personal effects. Ok, this is morbid but you see what I'm going through with. How is everyone else dealing with this process. You know, taking care of the just-in-case stuff?

I have not heard that you age after surgery... I hope that is not true, I am only 23. A lady at my work had it done and she does look older, infact I think younger because she feels soooo much better. I do the same thing about talking myself out of it. My brother is not supportive, and my mom is having it 2 weeks after me. So when I talk to him, I am like what am I doing, then I talk to my mom and I get excited! I just want to be normal again. I don't go places because of my weight. I have not seen my BFF in almost 3 years because I dont want her to see how fat I am now. Where are you having your surgery? I am in TX. Let me know, I know that we can do this and when Spring Break comes around we will be looking good and look back at this and laugh!!!

Hello, Good Luck to you! Saturday I went to Walmart to find something sugar free, that was red or purple to drink! It was hard! I found the special K protein water I never knew about those apparently they are quite popular! My husband has been doing the grocery shopping so I will blame it on that LOL! I got the pink lemonade which is drinkable and it has fiber and protein so thats good I guess. I also found its like the crystal light but its apple I never seen that one before iether. Its a bit strong but drinkable. I found I like the chicken bouillian better than broth. My husband works at conagra and they had cases for $3.50 of the broth so now I have 2 cases and don't like it! LOL! I guess we will be doing crock pot cooking when I can eat againHA! I made it threw and I am sure you have to! I am scared to death! I am sure everything will be fine I hate surgerys. i am afraid of not waking up but I am sure it will be fine! I am sure you will to! I just want it to be over! I can't believe in 14 hours I will be starting my surgery! Best wishes to yoU! Jamie

I am having the gastric bypass. I too am so nervous. One minute I am postive about the surgery and the next I talk myself out of it. Everyone tells me I will age a lot after the surgery. Have you heard that? Hope to hear from you soon, Teri

Hi all! This is my first post on OH but I've been lurking for quite some time I had my original consult with Dr. Pupkova at Barix Clinic in Langhorne PA on August 1 and had a lot of trouble finding a doc who would do my psych eval. Luckily someone pointed me in the direction of OH and I found Dr. Raines. He had everything finished in just a few weeks (and even participates with my insurance!). Once Vicki in the Insurance Dept at Barix had everything sent over to BCBS I had my approval in about 2 weeks (received the letter 11/24). I called this past Friday to check on the scheduling and worked with Eileen and she had me scheduled immediately. I go in for my Lap RNY on Dec 27 (following PATs on 12/12 ... my brothers birthday lol). I am super excited to have finally made it this far in the process and can't wait to bring in the New Year with the start of the New ME!
