Topic: RE: HELP!!!!!
I don't have any problem with the protein levels and I was told to have 70 grams a day. Safeway and Walmart have a protein drink called Eas. It comes in a pack of 4. It is good and at 17 grams of protein with only 1 carb and 100 calories it's good. Also at the GNC (I think that is the name of the store that sell vitamin's in most malls). They have a few different ones. One I believe is called Isopure, comes in powder form in a galleon jar. It is 50 gram per per glass. So 1 1/2 glass of water with the powder mixed in will give you 70 grams. Any liquids count toward you 64ozs a day. If you want to know some places on the net to order (shipping is expensive) you can email me.
Topic: any Kaiser Fontana friends from Class of October 31, 2007? Surgery date ....
I am having my surgery a week from Monday. It's on December 17. I'm very anxious but alot of feelings/emotions going on in my head. I have this fear and am wondering if anyone else has or had it before surgery.
1.) What will people think of me afterwards?
2.) How will I be treated after the weightloss begins?
Obese people are so often ignored or treated so differently It's such a different world when you are fat.
I am who I am, heavy or not. It's whats on the inside that is important however unfortunately it's not viewed that way. Only my body will change, not my heart, soul & mind. (I don't think)
Topic: RE: December 13th is the big day to make me little
Good luck! I'm a couple of week behinds you. I have the pleasure of going in at 6:15am the day after Christmas. Oh well, looks like a liquid Christmas for me...I had those when I was younger, and the liquid was MUCH MORE POTENT!
Topic: RE: How important is Pre-op Diet?
I was never asked to go on a liquid diet before the surgery, and I did ask. He said since I had lost already it wasn't important, but you must lose 15lbs(depening on your weight now) or your liver will be so large with fatty tissue that he will have to open you up rather then laproscopic or not do the surgery at all. I did it eating only soft meat like chicken breast or fish(not fried, but roasted or baked;and not soaking in the fat) and only salads/vegitables and MAYBE a tablespoon a day of carbs to get my energy for my exercises. Once I was in the operating room the doc said my tissue was not tough, it was very tender and easy to ply and move around. He said he hasn't seen that good of tissue in a very long time. So it is not in the LIQUID, but in the high protien side of the diet and watch your fat, salt, and carbs VERY closely. Good luck!

Topic: RE: 4 days to go
I am having surgery on Dec 17 and I am nervous about it also. I have been trying not to think about it too much and I also enjoy going to the gym to release some stress.
Topic: RE: 4 days to go
The answers to your questions are yes and yes. What are you doing to keep it under control?
