Hair loss???????
it just started for me. i was hopping to be one of the few ucky ones that didn't have that happen....... it just began so i don't see my hair getting to thin. i notice it when i wash my hair... and i am starting to see my hair on clothing kinda thing... my hair is very thick so i do have that on my side.
i have read so many people taking biotin, have you tried taking that?. i imagine it wold take some time to get into you system before seeing the results of it.....
other thatn that i just don't know!.........
It was like exactly 3 months to the day from my surgery, my hair started falling out in handfuls! It's very depressing as I love my hair!! What I understand per other posts, there is nothing we can do to prevent it, just up your protein, take 5000 mcg of Biotin, use Nioxin shampoo and pray it comes back. The Biotin will only help with new hair growing in, not help with keeping it from falling out. I condition when I shampoo, but the ends are so dry and brittle. I see my hairdresser next week, and pray she can give me a good style or haircolor to camoflage the loss.
I'm losing mine in handfuls!! It's very depressing, but I knew to expect it b4 getting the surgery, and weighed the pros and cons. I'd definetly rather be skinny, healthy and bald, than morbidly obese, unhealthy, but nice full head of hair!!! I use Nioxin shampoo, and it seems to help a bit, but worry that in a few months, I wont have any left!
I'm shedding... must be spring ;-}
I'll be 4 months post-RNY tomorrow. The shedding started slowly about 3 weeks ago. The last week has been really bad - clogging the shower, all over me and the bathroom. I have to put 'product' in my hair, and I'm disgusted by how much hair is on my hands.
I had my hair cut and colored today. The stylist suggested wearing my natural curly hair as curly to make it look thicker. Uh... no thanks! I do leave the back mostly curly, but not the front. I'm thinning a lot on the top! I went through this before with a previous surgery. I know it will get really thin, but it will grow back... eventually.
There are two camps... 1) Beef up on protein and other supplements... 2) If it's going to happen, then it'll happen. I belong to camp #2.
