I had my RNY on Dec 17.... I've only lost 37 lbs and 22 of those were in the first 2 weeks.... I am doing everything "right" and am just so frustrated.... I see people on the main board complaining about slow weight loss, and I am losing MUCH slower than they are.... I lost 57lbs in 3 months pre op on Atkins without any difficulty and no exercise! It just melted off... but, now, I'm just STUCK... I have lost maybe 2 or 3 lbs in the past few weeks... I could just cry! I hate to be negative, it's not my nature by any means... I was so looking forward to this surgery and have done exactly what I'm supposed to do (my only deficit is somedays I don't get in 64oz of fluid)... I am feeling so lost... I was on FIRE pre op, but now I'm not even WARM!!!! ACK!!!!! Any thoughts or ideas???

Are you getting enough protein? what about exercise? are you snacking? these are all things to consider when at a weight stall. also, think about what you're eating...is it too much? Good Luck aph

Hi Angel, thanks for your ideas. I do get enough protein... I am still eating 3 small meals and 2 snacks (snacks are cheese sticks, sometimes fruit, usually a carb control yogurt and a few nuts) - 3 meals doesn't work yet because I am always hungry.... I am exercising, but I am still only able to do a max of 10 min on the treadmill, or 2 miles on the exercycle... Maybe I am eating too much? I definately never feel "full" so I do have to just serve myself a small (1/4-1/2 cup portion) and eat no more.... I am lacking in fluid intake overall, and am wondering if I should switch one of my snacks to a protein shake instead of food? Soooooooooo frustrating! At least I'm not gaining!!!! Thnaks again!

I had my surgery on dec 19, I have lost 39 pounds so I know what you mean. I hope things will be better next month. I start with a personaly trainer next week, so maybe that will help.

If you are carb sensitive, then the fruit may be too many carbs for you. Are you tracking your intake? Getting 80 grams of protein? Staying under your calorie level? Also, drinking water will help. The more water you drink, the more water your body will give up, if your body thinks it does not get enough water, it will hold onto whatever you give it.

It sounds like your main problem is that you are not taking in enough fluid. That's the best way to increase your weight loss. Make sure you get up to a minimum of 64 ounces a day. That should also help with your hunger. If you exercise try to gradually add an additional 15 minutes to your routine, and if you don't exercise, start. Even 30 minutes of walking is better than nothing. Hang in there! We're here for you whenever you need us.

Thanks Genesis... I appreciate it! I am working on the water... really trying to pu**** I do exercise daily, but am only able to walk 5-10min on the treadmill or ride the exercycle 2 miles at a time (I have bad arthritis and fibromyalgia)... I am trying to SLOWLY increase my short little workouts! I also do the Weigh2Win bariatric exercise DVD.

Remember that you have been loosing weight for 5-6 months now.... and everyone hits plateaus. I did not do anything pre-op so mine will probably be a little later than yours. I agree about the water- the more you drink the more your body will lose.
