No cake for birthday tommorow

I know it's really silly, but I'm sad that I can't have cake on my birthday. I only eat pinapple upside down cake once a year on my birthday. I didn't have any trouble not eating all the holiday goodies and sweets, but this time I'm really struggling with it. Any Ideas?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! It's not silly at all, mourning food is all part of the process. I LOVE Birthday Cake!! I used to buy Birthday Cake even when it wasn't my birthday! I even wrote "happy birthday" on it. Yes I know it's weird, but there is just something about celebration cakes that I love! And don't get me started on cupcakes...mmmmm...little mini celebrations...lol.....ooohhh and cookies...lol......see what you started Unfortunately I can't offer up any suggestions other than a couple of very small bites of sugar-free cake, like one made with splenda. But this soon post-op, that may not be a good idea. A better option may be to come up with a new birthday tradition not based on food. Best of luck, and Happy Birthday

I feel your pain, Jen. My birthday was Christmas Eve and my surgery was on Dec. 10th. My in-laws were here and they had tiramisu with my husband while I had sf pudding. I did love the pudding but I sure wish I could've had some birthday cake. I really missed it. I always have strawberry shortcake on my b'day. Maybe next year...I'll make one from sf angelfood cake and sf/ff cool whip. Hang in there. You've begun a journey that will include lots and lots of birthdays to come...birthdays filled with healthy birthday cakes! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JEN!!!

My hubbys b-day was 2 wks after my surgery and I found it hard. I had a spoonful of lite cool whip mixed witha spoonful of sf pudding. I didnt even have 2 bites . Once it was over , I was over it. Good luck
