Just wanted to pop in and say hello to everyone! I just got home, and I am 3 days out now! I feel wonderful, and not having any pain or any trouble getting fluids in as of right now. Tomorrow starts the protein shakes, so wish me luck on that!!! God Bless each of you on this journey!!! It has been a blessing!!!

I had my surgery on the 27th...and boy wasn't it great to get home to your own bed?! I got home on Saturday afternoon, stretched out on the bed and slept like a rock for 5 hours. We are soooooo lucky to have this opportunity...wishing you the best year ever in 2008. Take care, Kathy

I got home today, and yes it is nice to be home... No more waking up in the middle of the night to someone saying we need to check you blood sugar, or we need to get vitals. Well, the adventure has begun lets see where it takes us. Happy New Year

Welcome home ladies. I came home the next day but honestly since i stopped takin the oxycodone (saturday AM) I haven't slept much. I'm just not tired lol Last night I took a unisom because i was bound and determined to sleep and I made it 3 hours *shrug* The narcotics weren't doin a damn thing for my pain but now I'm thinkin the doc prescribed them to knock me out?

I came home on Saturday too. When the hospital called on Sunday to check on me they basically told me that I should use the Lortab before I shower (I overdid it on Saturday and moved wrong) and before I go to bed. Not only does it help me wake up less sore ... but I'm actually able to sleep soundly for at least 6-7 hours. Everyday I feel a little better ... I know this is definitely going to be ongoing and was prepared for it (thankfully lol). My biggest problem is getting in the 64ozs of water. I discovered yesterday that the ice chips help with that ... and it lets me have something to "chew" on. I start my full liquids on Thursday and already have my grocery list ready! lol The one thing they did tell me was to not sleep in my recliner because it completely limits movement which can increase the risk of blood clots. But that it was fine to sit in it during the day since I was awake and was able to get up and move a lot. I am down about 8lbs from discharge already ... can't beat that!! Good Luck everyone!!!
