Another newbie

Hi! My name is Laura, I live in Florida and I had RNY on 12/10/07. I'm doing pretty well so far. I think I'm just coming out of a weeklong stall. I had no idea it would happen so soon after surgery. It freaked me out a bit but this morning the scale moved down a pound so that made me very happy! I've lost 12.5 lbs. since surgery and a total of 47.5 since I started this journey in May. I'm so happy I found this website and I look forward to getting to know everyone.

Hi Laura, I'm just jumping in on your post since I am a newbie too. My surgery date was 12/18/07. I'm still a little sore but doing okay. I hope I don't hit the stall yet. I know one day i didn't lose my pound but I made up for it the next day. I started this over a year ago but was stalled due to insurance. I was approved at the end of Nov. 07 and have lost a total of 35 lbs. total. I think I've lost 20 lbs since surgery. It's very exciting. Have you been able to eat anything yet? I can't wait to try out my pouch. Donna, Good luck tomorrow. :-)

Hi Liz. I'm doing really well. I've been able to chew my own food for a couple of days now and I'm lovin' it! I've had refried beans with ff sour cream. I love it! Tonight hubby's making me a chicken burger (yum) and broccoli. It's really great to eat again. And so far so good. When do you get to eat again?

Hello all, I am another newbie. Had my Lapband 12/27/07. lost 15lbs on preop diet, and another 5 on the postop. Only 106 more to go.... Seems like a long road ahead.

Hi Laura, Welcome to OH! My surgery was on the 17th, and I have hit my first stall I know it's normal, but it does SUCK! Oh well. I guess its just a matter of taking it one day at a time. Congrats on your weight loss so far! Be sure to keep us updated, and post often! We're glad to have you!

Thanks for the welcome, Gen! I hit my first stall about a week after surgery. It lasted about one week and now it's gone. Yippee!!! I love watching the scale move down. I don't know how I would've reacted if I had not found out about stalls and what they are from this website. It's a godsend. Hang in there! This too shall pass!
