I haven't been logged on in ages because things have been going well, I go to group for lapband and I am one of the ones who is furthest out. I now think I am pregnant and I have no answers. I have read that women can successfully have babies after lapband, and I researched the research and it is all very positive. I am going to make an appt to see my surgeon after I see the obgyn. I am of course leaving for a 10 day trip out of town so cant see him till after the new year. I have lost 80 pounds so far and have only 2.05 cc in a 4 cc band. Could anyone who has been pregnant post lap band help me out? Freakin out a little........ Joanne

I actually just got banded 7 days ago and do not have children, but I am looking to have children once I loose the weight. My surgeon told me that once I find out I'm pregnant he will open up the band all the way until after I am done nursing. He told me he hasn't had any problems with pregnancy after the band. Hope this helps!!

WOW! Congrats. I'm having RYN a week from today and infertility was abig factor into my decision. My surgeon told me that any risks after having either of these surgery's is much less than being overweight and having a baby. Good luck with it all!

My friend Jo just delivered a healthy baby boy.......1 1/2 years after having her lap band put in. She did just fine, and has already lost all the excess baby weight that her son put back on her. Her surgeon just removed the fill, and she was just fine. She never did get really hungry more than normal.....and she felt great the whole time. 6 weeks after having her son, her ob-gyn allowed her to get a fill put back in. Her surgeon agreed to it, and he only put back in half of what she had before, just until she got adjusted to that restriction again. You will be just fine. Just make sure you communicate with both your ob-gyn AND your lap surgeon. God bless you, and have a wonderful and safe and Healthier New Year!
