Sense of Smell

I had my surgery on 12/4 and seem to have lost my sense of smell. I can only smell a few things and of course those are strong foul odors. I fixed a nice spaghetti dinner with homemade garlic spaghetti sauce and garlic bread for my kids the other night and could not smell a thing! Has anyone else experienced this and will I ever get to smell food again?

hmmm, that is a good question. I have not heard of loss of smell, but change in taste. this is interesting, and curiousity will make me go out and do research.

i had my surgery 12/11 and my sense of smell actually got a bit stronger. my doc told me that tast and smell will change after the surgery. but if you're really concerned i think you should talk to your surgeon.
