5 days to go.

Well, it is only 5 days until I am reborn. I am so excited and ready, but also at the same time, I am finally getting scared to death. I know I have no reason to be, other than just typical nervousness. Unfortunatly everything seems to be going wrong this past few days, and I really don't think it is going to get any better between now and the 27th. Just please keep me in your prayers. I really need the support.

Hey there! I have 6 days to go, as my surgery is on the 28th. I can understand the Murphy's Law thing all to well. I will be around if you want to PM me and talk.

We're the same day, and I'm a bit scared, too...I'm praying for you

I don't think I am as scared now as I was the other day. I know that with Gods healing hands, I will be just fine, as well as you! God Bless you and Merry Christmas!

I'm also the 27th! And having the roller coaster emotions. I am trying to get everything together now so that I'm not trying to think about it when I am cranky from the preop prep lol Just out of curiosity ... what are your requirements for preop? just curious to see how much things vary doctor to doctor.

My only thing is the 5 day liquid diet. On the 26th, I'm doing pre-op, where the surgeon will do an EGD (?) to check my gallbladder. If that's no good, he's going to remove it at the time of my surgery. I'll have a chest x-ray, EKG, and labs, too...all standard stuff, I imagine. I'm already cranky...

I did all of my preop testing on Dec 13 (cbc, ekg, chest xray, nutritionist, respiratory, etc). As far as surgery prep I (thankfully) did not have the 5 day liquid diet. I was told that I can eat a little Christmas dinner if we do it early (so we are having it at 1) and then around 4 I have to take a laxative (Fleet soda ... blah) and then beginning at midnight I am on clear liquids all day the 26th. Nothing after midnight the 27th. Very small price to pay for me!

Well, my dr. required a 2 week full liquid diet, and then Christmas Day, I start my Clear liquid diet. On the 26th, I have to drink one bottle of Magnesium Citrate by 6 pm, and nothing more to drink after 7 pm. I can't have anything with red or grape color for the 25th and 26th. Oh well, at least there is lemonade and apple juice. I can still have boullion, coffee without cream, jello and popcicles. Sounds yummy, doesn't it!!! LOL Good luck with your surgery. I will say a special prayer as well.
