Lap-Band surgery on 12-11-07
Congrats to you too! I'm also down 11 lbs. I am seeing my PCP this afternoon so he can look at my incisions and review my meds. Tomorrow morning I am having Mohs surgery to remove a basal cell from my face. I return to work on the 7th and class on the 9th.
Keep me informed of your progress. Are you in California, what city? I'm in Sacramento. My surgery was in South San Francisco. I will also go to SSF for my fills, first one will be 6 wks after surgery.
Where did you have your surgery on the 12th?
Hugs,
Iris
Thank you for your words of encouragement!
I am so happy you are on the losers' bench along with me. We had our surgeries in the same week. That is wonderful. I will think of you as we travel together to the healthier side of life.
I was not using the pain medication during the day because of the precaution on the label about breathing problems. I want to keep my lungs clear.
I will walk outdoors on nice days and use my treadmill otherwise. I will keep the walking and the water flowing for best results. I am finding it difficult to get all the water in that I need, 64 oz. I drink maybe 30 oz of water and a cup of hot decaf tea or coffee up until 9:00 at night. I don't want to be up all night going to the bathroom.
Tomorrow I have an appt with my PCP in Sacramento so he can look at my incisions and modify any meds I'm taking. I am off low dose aspirin until I have a basal cell lesion removed from my face early Wednesday morning. This is done out-patient with local anesthesia. Then I see no more doctors until Jan 4th in SSF when Dr. Le releases me to return to work on the 7th.
I am no longer taking diabetic medication as my numbers are within normal range before and after meals. I knew that my medications would decrease after the band was installed and I was happy about the thought of that.
I wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas!
Hugs and kisses,
Iris

I also was banded on the 12th. I am in Northern Minnesota. Everything went way better than I could have ever imagined. I have been home since the 13th and incredibly, I am satisfied and not the least bit hungry. I have been trying so hard to follow the diet. I should be on full liquids for 2 more days than to soft foods. We had Christmas dinner tonight and I totally ate soft foods-only one bite of each, sweet potatoes, stuffing, and wild rice. I didn't have any trouble with the food, so I will probably just keep eating softs. I have had no appetite whatsoever. I have had trouble remembering to eat at all. I feel as though I am getting worn down and weak. Are you having this trouble?I don't have a scale, but my pants fit sooo much better already!
Happy Holidays to you all. Stacy
