weight loss
Hi, Jeannie - From what I've heard there is no "normal" weight to have lost and that everyone is different... As you know, I had surgery last Thursday and I don't feel like I've lost anything yet! In fact as of yesterday morning, I still wasn't back to my day of surgery weight!! That was very frustrating!! I was not at all prepared for the weight gain in the hospital... From my weigh in on the morning of surgery until an aide had me get on a scale late that evening, I gained 10 pounds!!! Like I said, as of yesterday morning, I still hadn't lost all 10 of those pounds! I decided then and there that I wouldn't get on a scale again until this Friday when I go to the surgeon for my 1 week check... I've heard so many say they've lost 20 pounds in the first week or whatever and I just know that won't be me... I'm trying not to focus on that, but it is discouraging! How are you doing otherwise? Take care...
Nancy
Hi Nancy, Well I am just worried because a friend of mine lost 28lbs on the 13th day out. I have only lost 21 lbs. But I have lost about 10inches in my waist and 7.5inches around my legs, not so much around my hips and other places. I am starting to see it in my face though. I gained 8lbs after surgery, but like you said we are all different. I just don't want to have too high of expectations or not enough. I really am at a loss here. I am sorry to hear you are going through any discouraging moments. Have faith, I know that first 10lbs comes off, it just takes time. I did lose 4 lbs over night once. So I know it can happen, I just don't know what the magic key was on that one occasion. Anyway good luck on your apt. Talk to you later.

Hey, Jeannie - You are doing AWSOME!! I'd say 21 pounds in less than 2 weeks is fabulous!!! Just keep up the good work and don't worry - that weight is starting to melt off of you!! Especially when you're noticing it in your face, etc. I had lost 13 pounds on the 2 week liquid diet and had lost a total of 9 inches during that time (based on my weights and measurements at Curves) so I thought that was a good start. I am anxious to really start seeing some of the weight come off! At least we're on the loser's bench now! Take care and keep in touch!
