Hi, Tracy - I'm right there with you! I had surgery yesterday and am home today! All went well so far. I'm on clear liquids until I see the dr. next Friday and then will be able to add in protein shakes. I haven't been hungry, either, and have mostly jus had water so far. I'm glad that you are doing well, too, and join you in wishing all the other December family all the best in their surgeries and recoveries! Now we can all get on that loser's bench!! ~Nancy~

Another Dec 2007 member speaking up. I had my surgery on Wed., came home yesterday and feel pretty darned good. I discontinued pain meds the first morning after sx., and haven't even filled my script for the liquid stuff my doctor prescribed. I go back to the doc on Thursday for hopefully drain removal. My protein shakes can start next Wednesday, and you best believe that I will have one in the fridge getting cold the night before. I'm not exactly hungry, and seeing food around the house, smelling it, and watching it on TV isn't bothering me. But, I feel like I need something of substance going into my mouth. It's a weird feeling to try to explain.

Hey Everyone! You guys are my heroes!! I had my surgery on Tuesday and am still on pain meds! There were some complications with bleeding and so they had to go back in , my surgery lasted about 4 hours, the doctor said I would be pretty sore on my left side for atleast 2 weeks. I'm so glad everyone is doing so well. I cant wait to say I quit the pain meds!!! I still have to have help getting in and out of bed - its pretty frustrating. Overall, I feel pretty good as long as I dont move the wrong way. Sitting upright in a chair and walking seem to help. Other peoples food hasnt bothered me at all either. Infact I dont seem to be able to smell it - which is a little weird. Today is the first day I felt "a little" hungry - but a protein shake more than satisfied that. Take Care Tracy

Tracy, SO sorry to hear that you had complications. Your positive outlook makes you a hero in your own right! I can't do protein shakes, I'm ordered to clear liquids for the first week. I can't wait to try my first one. I think it will taste like the creamiest thing I've ever eaten, lol I hope your recovery continues to improve!! Your positive attitude is helping for sure. Take care, Kathy
