I have to be at the hospital at 5:30 am Monday - for an 8:00 surgery. At least we don't have to drive in San Diego rush hour traffic to get there :D I think I'm as ready as I'm going to be . . . other than washing my sheets and changing my bedding just before I go to sleep Sunday night . . . Good luck everyone! Chris

My surgery is the 10th, it is now 2:32am and I'm not able to sleep. I need to start getting ready for work in 4hrs and 20mins and I'm gonna be exhausted. I'm not so much worried about the surgery as I am getting everything done before the surgery. I'll turn 57 the day of my surgery so I feel like I need to get my will taken care of before going under the knife. I bought the software to do it and have started it but what do I know about writing a will. I have a grown daughter and I'm living with my life-partner. I have taken care of the insurance and they are my beneficiaries. But then there is the house, the car and my personal effects. Ok, this is morbid but you see what I'm going through with. How is everyone else dealing with this process. You know, taking care of the just-in-case stuff?

I am also going through some of the ame thoughts. I am 56 and always been in control of my house and goings on. I also think I am realistic. This is a major life alteration and major surgery at my age. I am taking so may meds right now so after my surgery in Jan. Im hoping to get rid of alot of these meds. I dont think its morbid, its realistic Good Luck to you and your surgery Denise

Deb, We will be having surgery the same day. I think I am a year older than you. I guess I haven't had any of the thoughts about my will, etc. because I have already taken care of them. After working for years in the the health care field, I have seen how young, healthy people put off "taking care of things", thinking they are invincible and indestructible, until the unimagined happens and all the people they love are left to deal with a real mess. Just look at this as an opportunity to do an unpleasant task and have it done and finished. Now you can start a healthy, happy life. I promuise I will think of you Monday morning as we both make the first step to freedom Judy
