It's hard to believe nearly 2 years has gone by since surgery on 12/15/2006!  My highest weight was 281 lbs.   My current weight ranges between 165-170 lbs.  I really would LOVE to get to 150, but I feel like old habits are creeping back in and I definitely can eat more food than I used to.  Has anyone tried the "5 Day Pouch Test" from another website?  Just curious if it works to help get us back on track.

I am making a committment today to be more conscious of WHAT I put in my mouth and I will also be checking this board on a regular basis - so, please don't give up on me!

Topic: Pre-op diet re-visited!

Well as you all can relate too, my eating habits have slipped.  BIG TIME!  so per my sureons suggestions I am going to do 5 days of my pre-op diet; 2 protein shakes, high protein meal with a veggie,  broth and SF Jell-O /popsicles.  I also have a wonderfully supportive dh who is going to do it with me.  He needs to drop a few pounds, apprently some of the ones I lost found there way to him :-p

Wish us luck!

Ok, so I've been lazy and not posted.  Sydnie had her 6 month check up (a week..2 weeks?? ago) and is doing well.  We didn't get to see her doctor because she hadn't made it in yet, so her husband (they have a practice together) filled in for her.  I do not like him, his bedside manner sucks...but what could I do.  As usual (for him) he told me she's not gaining enough weight and not growing well.  He did this to me with my youngest son which made me start giving him formula instead of nursing him.  I learned my lesson for this time.  I blew him off in that regard because she weighed in at  14 lbs. 9 oz and was 24.5 inches long.  Apparently a gain of 2 lbs and growing 0.5 inches in 6 weeks isn't enough.  Whatever. Anyway, her head is finally growing quicker and she's doing great developmentally.  We got the all clear to start cereal, which she LOVES by the way, and then the next week start veggies, then fruits.  I'm not ready for this...LOL!!  So, all is well with her.  I can't believe how much she's grown already and I keep thinking in just another 6 months, she'll be close to walking and talking if she doesn't do it before then.  The time really IS short, isn't it??

And now, some pictures for you to enjoy.

Then...

The day started-out OK... then I, making no excuses here, simply blew-it on ice cream... my first real ice cream.  Luckily, I did not dump (or maybe... not so luckily) for me.  My mood was pretty sour and being around others, who had me ticked-off for other reasons seemed too much.  Now I think that part of my mood might have been all of the sugar... just a different kind of reaction.
Ended-up going to sleep at 7:30... without eating dinner... just some veggies before the meal.
Need to destress... big time!

My DeathClock is still reading within a few years due to attitude!
I know that I might seem "together", but my internal level is way out off balance.
I NEED to SMILE again!!!

Well life has been going on.  My b-friend and I are still having issues.  The last week I have been dealing with Hurricane Ike and the devastation.  I fortunately was only without power for a a few days.  Others in the area did not fare as well.  This situation made me count my blessings and realize that life could be worse.  Thanks for being concerned.  I appreciate it a lot.  I have slipped off the bandwagon and all.  Not having power and being able to cook I was eating a lot of junk food.  Hopefully I will be able to get back on track and stop eating so much (nerves).
