cool job interview--and now i'll still have a huge visible
scrape on my ankle from my joggin "accident" the other day...looks like i've been mauled by a pack of hungry lions or something.
i just out this morning, after an hour-long telephone interview i'm among the few final candidates for this really cool position i found and will need to come in for an in-person interview next Wed. That's great news--they had like 500 resumes and i think i'm among the final 3 candidates.
the position would be perfect for me at this stage would fit my personality/skills (you still have to be an attorney to do it but it also involves pretty high-level management responsibilities)--i think because i graduate law school when i was pretty young they may be expecting someone older (i'm 33 but ever since i lost the weight everyone tells me i look more like i'm in my late 20s than early 30s and i keep getting carded in bars and restaurants. on top of that i now have this huge booboo on my ankle and it will show even through pantyhose.
I though of wearing a pantsuit but for this position a knee-length skirt suite is really more appropriate at an interview. i even have a perfect Tahari one i recently bought (just tried it on---it fits but it's size 2p and if i gain even an pound before wed. , the skirt might look a little too snug...
of well, wish me luck...it's a long shot but would be perfect for me right now

Natalie, if you don't have broken skin on your ankle and only just bruising then head to a health food/natural foods store and look for a product in the medicine aisle called Arnica Gel. It is an extract from a plant and specifically heals bruising. It also does a very good job at muscle pain relief and if you watch your ingredients carefully, you can usually find it in just a witch hazel base so it doesn't have a bunch of carcinogens tacked along for the ride. Might be enough time to get that bruising under control before your interview on Weds.
Good luck, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! How cool that you are at the top of the list of so many candidates. They will be very lucky to have you if they are smart enough to select you.

Thank you Molly,
Unfortunately, it's not just a bruise...the skin was broken there was pretty much a gushing wound with quite a bit of bleeding, etc....gross, sorry about the details.
Fortunately, it is healing (scabbing up) and is not infected (when my mom first saw me coming back from my little jog she wnated to take me to the ER...that, of course would have been absurd but she's a jewish mom..she is supposed to overreact, i guess...i did call my doctor who said that i just need to keep the area clean use lots of neosporin and watch for any sign of infection. There is no infection so i'm not going to die of gangrene or have my leg amputared (again, thanks for putting those suggestions out, mom. i will probably take at least a month for the scar to not be so obviously visible...oh well.
I really should stop complaining though. I'm worried about having a visible booboo on my ankle during my job interview b/c that might ruin my perfect "young but mature, corporate but sexy (so can charm the hell out of law school deans during ****tail parties, attorney but also a business exec.)" image I'm trying to fake here Just remembered that 2.5 years ago i'd be worried about the xtra 100lbs...i'll take the injured ankle anyday
I'm really exited about this job prospect. I know the chances are still pretty slim, I'm sure they have much more qualified/experienced candidates (especially in this economy) but since I somehow managed to make a good impression during a phone interview, I'll give it my best shot in person and, who knows....

also, need to try to look older than 33(my actual age). it's for a high-level attorney-management position and, based on my resume they may be expecting someone older...and i still get carded at bars sometimes
