Wednesday Weekly Weigh-In/Accountability
Hi! I want in on the group hug too!
Last week was crazy busy and by the time I realized I hadn't checked in here for weigh-in or daily posts and had COMPLETELY forgotten to weigh daily it was a panic attack on the scale. So it was just as well...I got up to 151 last week. Pulled the reigns in bigtime and am getting it back under control. Here's numbers and then the answers:
HW: 268
SW: 230
LW: 151
CW: 147
So the numbers are still scary-high but it was TOM last week and when you combine that with birthdays, anniversary, eating out, having family over for bbq and just being crazy in general it is understandable and I didn't beat myself up over it too badly. Working at keeping the grazing to a minimum this week and getting the sodium levels down.
I love your idea of getting back to baking your own safe treats. That is a sanity saver for me. If I have sf chocolate in the house for my 'fix' then I eat way too much. But if it is something I had to take the time and effort to make then I tend to not overdo it so much ****ep things frozen) because I'm just lazy enough that it makes me think twice about having to bake another batch. LOL
Which kind of brings me to the weekly question answer....grazing is a big problem, not journalling food lately is another problem. After support group last night I started journalling again and realize I am eating way too much protein. The carbs aren't as bad as I think so that means I need to up the veggies. Not my fav, but it gets easier once the fresh produce prices start going down in summer. Plus, once my zuccchini plants get going it will be all zucchini all the time! LOL
Weddings? Yikes...there isn't much help there unless they have some kind of fruit or veggie trays. If it is a long 'do' then you could always sneak a protein bar in with you for some sustenance and then just drink coffee to be sociable. ???
Since I've gotten really resistant to getting back to Sparkpeople to journal (WHY??? It isn't like I dont know how fabulous it?!) I think I will take a cue from a 5-yr. post-op at my local support group who has recently gone back to food journalling in a little diary book that she carries everywhere. Just so long as I am writing it down and can see it at the end of the day, it will be a help in getting my head back to a more realistic picture of what is going in the pie-hole and then maybe being able to control the grazing better.
Molly, ever the long-winded one!

I think carrying a journal forces u to be accountable, b/c u have to write it down. Just having to know I have to log something later or figure out that "mish mash" of food makes me wanna avoid it. A journal is a good idea, often times my brain is fried at the end of the day and I can't remember it all, sadly.
I really need to journal again myself. I have been lazy the past year or more, just keep mental tally. I know I eat way more than I need to most days. Been a real struggle since plastics b/c at least I could "exercise" some of it off, nothing but walking now.
Sigh.. I need to journal too... now u got me wanting to be accountable. Remember the daily eats threads.. wow those are long gone.. we could start it up again but for some reason it makes me panic LOL...
Oh i tell ya. Glad to see you posting. Stay close if you can.. we need each other to keep this group thriving and keep the scales either down or moving in the right direction.
I am so proud of this group 2.5 years out and still all posting... I think I said that already but AHHH I am so happy!!!!

Let's see, this week. Working on slowly weaning myself from drinking while eating (if you remember a previous post, during pregnancy was constantly thirsty and HAD to drink all the time or I started to feel parched), and cutting back on the carbs. Been slowly forcing myself to not go for the bread or mini-bagel with cream cheese & peanut butter on it, and just go for the cottage cheese & fruit, instead. I know cottage cheese is a slider food, but it works best for me for the "munchies" I still get, while recovering from delivery and hormones going back to normal.
I'm in the process of making chicken salad, atm, and tuna, to put in the frige to have for even better "munchies" moments. The chicken salad is sweet with the craisins, and the tuna is crunchy with the celery.
HW: 281
SW: 260
LW: 151
CW: 183 (Yeah!)
I'll take the 2lbs, even it it's just more water weight coming off from the pregnancy. My poor knees got so swollen looking.. didn't have to worry about knicking them when shaving.
Side note: Pregnany rash is on the mend, it quit itching 4 days ago, and all the patches are slowly fading out. Think I have one left, that broke out the night before Cat's delivery.. and it was HUGE on my left thigh. LOL So glad my daughter is here, and this is just ONE of the many reasons.

Heather.. glad the rash is better and the scale is going down!! Keep up the good work and try to keep going strong on the not drinking and eating together.. u and Dawn should do a "did u drink with your meal thread" everyday.. haha.... u2 are both working so hard on this and I am so proud of u. To this day when I drink after eating I feel like barfing. I don't know how u girls do it. My husband has always drank with his meals since early postop... shame on him i say.. but he won't change. Men, I tell ya.
Sounds like u got good "munchies" preparation is where it is at! Keep up the good work!

I did better on the drinking and eating thing yesterday. I limited myself to five good size sips, after eating, or while.. then nothing for 30 minutes more. That's a major improvement, considering I was downing 2 12 oz things of iced tea or half of my 32 oz Crystal Light with each meal (depending on eating at home or out).
Today, cut it to 3 sips. Figure finish up the week with that goal, and reaccess on Monday, since I Know the body is till trying to rebalance.
And not to do too much TMI, but still trying to regulate the constipation that came with childbearing. Ugh, someone should have mentioned THAT one!

Oh, it's there after. 5 days after delivering, with the stool softeners and MOM, I finally had relief. Told my spouse, never been soooooo happy in my life to poop! Ray just laughed and said he was glad I felt better. He had no clue.
