Surgery Scheduled

Hi Gang!

I just wanted to let you all know that I will be having a lower body lift on April 28th.  It will be about 6 hours of OR time.  Insurance approved the panni portion and I have to cover the rest, 10k.  Gulp.  More than I expected to pay but I am still going forth.  I need this skin off my abdomen for more than cosmetic reasons, I want those fat cells off me that are waiting to plump back up.  They shrink but never go away unless you have surgery to remove them.  

I have "adherant" places along my side of my torso (rolls if you will) and several of them.. very much a melted candle look and he has to go up under the skin and cut all the fibrous tisse that is making that affect.  He will have to cut all the way up to my breats on each side. Then of course I will have cut along the bikini line and back around the back side and he will have to do additional cuts on the hips as well.  My RNY surgery was textbook but my LBL will not be and as he says making me a more complex case... ugh but I am ready and excited to get it done and over with.

I will be off work for 6 weeks and I believe I will have 4 drains, 2 in front and 2 in back. Spend 1-2 days in the hospital. 

Exciting :) YES, nervous YES but I will do ok I am sure of it.

Okay, yours sounds way more painful than my upcoming hospital stay.   So you win.

Seriously, though.  Congratulations, Mel.  And may you have an uncomplicated surgery and swift recovery.  And I so don't envy you the drains.  I remember my TWO from breast reduction and ugh!

If stinker behaves herself, we're due May 23rd.  I'm reaching the stage where I'm slowly getting to the point of "Is it over yet?"  LOL

Congratulations on your upcoming surgery!!  I pray that you have a successfull recovery and that you will be pleased with the results.

PS:  Your post in the Wednesday Weigh In really helped me this week.  I need to do what you did STOP THE CARBS COLD TURKEY AGAIN!!!   It is my drug and I need to get off of it.

SEE HOW GREAT YOU ARE?  YOU HELP AND PROBABLY DIDN'T EVEN REALISE IT.  LOL

Melissa this is so exciting!  You will have a whole new body again and feel so good about all your hard work once you get healed.  Wow!!!  Congratulations on getting the panni covered.  Wi**** were the whole thing but at least some is better than none. 

As busy a person as you are, what are you planning to do during your six weeks off work?  Certainly you will get all your scrapbooking caught up quickly.   

Boy, it is a little over a month away now.  I'm so happy for you!  Hugs!!!!

Thanks Molls :-)  I am excited and nervous of course too but it needs to be done and might as well do it right the first time.  What am I planning to do.. well if the pain isn't interferring I plan to go to some of my husbands softball games (each night of the week) and then work on our website we have been putting off for a long time. Not sure what else yet.. read, relax lol
