The FLu SUCKS!
Took my 4 YO to the DR. Friday for a F/U appointment to check his collar bone and he got the FLu vaccine while there.
I haven't been sick in 2 years and what colds were passed around did not affect me too bad in those two years. I'm talking a little stuffy nose and that would be it.
I'll be darned if, come Sunday, I did not start feeling like doodie. At first I thought I was having pain from a hernia or something. Nothing too bad, but I do have a high pain tolerance so what I think is not so bad someone else may say is horrendous. Almost felt like little bitty pieces of glass were going through my digestive system. And, if I pushed on my stomach (where my open RNY scar is) clear down to my belly button it hurt to press on it. I thought, oh great I now have a hernia complication (doc says I have one but I have never had any pain associated with it).
By Sunday evening I was shivering badly. A cold front had come in and I thought that was the problem at first. Then I realized, with my pain maybe I have a problem so I took my temp. Low grade fever of 100.5.
Then the nausea hit...then the diarhea....was up all (ALL) night. Had to get up Monday to sign off on payroll and send my 4 YO off to school. Go to the office and my office-mate is not coming in.
Good GRIEF!
Now I feel okay. Did not eat all day yesterday...just sipped on water all day. By 6 ish I was able to have a bowl of my homemade chili and a yogurt later in the eveing.
But now I sound like a frog.
A FROG! And, I am by myself at work again! Answering phones and sounding like a frog!
Sorry for the gripe, but I just had to let it out!

Aww Elaine *huggles*
I hope you feel better soon. It really sucks getting sick. I hadn't had an illness since before RNY other than an ear infection. Wednesday my throat started itching and then by Friday I had a temperature and sounded like a frog too. My tonsils were swollen and I could barely eat anything, just wanted to die.
I ended up having lots of respiratory stuff and finally today I feeling a bit better. I had to work the weekend and it was the longest weekend ever.
My husband got the GI version you got.. diarrhea bad and wanting to throw up (but didnt) and couldn't keep anything in him. He is still on a BRAT diet (bananas, rice, applesauce and toast) and I making him try shakes also for protein, he starting to feel better.
Seems this bug is biting everyone one way or another... ugh Hang in there.. I keep saying better now than at Christmas right? Never fun though. Get well wishes and fairy dust your way!
passing the kleenex to you (with lotion... nothing less for you!)
*hugs*

You bet I did! 5 freakin' pounds! Of Course...we all know what will happen when life gets back to normal...
My office-mate came back yesterday (wednesday) and tried to get me to go home but I want to take next week off so I stuck around to get things done so I can have the week and not just a sick day! KWIM?
