Hey everybody i know i am being inconsistant
I had my surgery in AZ and I live in KS I am looking for a surgeon in KS or MO that does revisions to get their opinion. I know that the after effect wil be different but i want to know if anyone has had been satisfied with the end results. That is one of my questions is how soon is too soon to consider revision surgery.
If you already had the RNY then that just leaves you the DS, right? That is a big change. Would you have to self-pay? At our support group we are frequently told about a change to a lot of insurance policies where they exclude you from any wls if you have already had one procedure. I got VERY lucky and got my VBG revised to the RNY but it was a long struggle to get approval.
I have to chime in and say that 2 years seems to soon to consider revision. My recommendation would be to work with a dietician/nutritionist familiar with your RNY and try that route first. If you absolutely can't live the RNY diet-lifestyle and are willing to make the changes that are required for a DS then definitely consider the revision. But it seems you are selling yourself short by saying you 'only' lost 150 pounds. That is an AWESOME amount and you have got to be proud of it. Maintaining it will be hard work and even harder work to lose more but you are worth it. You deserve to be the healthiest you can be...isn't that why all of us are still fighting the weight?
Keep us posted on what you decide to do, we'll all be cheering for you.

Hey Molly,
I know what you are saying about it being to soon i think that i may go to a gastroentrologist and see if they can do a scope and check the size of my pouch out. And I didn't mean to make it sound like i didnt feel like the 150 was an accomplishment. I am very glad for having lost it everytime I am able to walk somewhere, do something, or I am able to fit into somewhere or something that I wasn't before I think to myself just think you wouldn't have been able to do this 2 years ago and I am greatful i don't know if its my imagination or if I have stretched my pouch or not I just want to know what I need to do to get back on track. Molly I am terrified that i will go back to were i was and i cant stand to think that I could possibly go back that why I am trying to make sure that everything is ok if you have any suggestions please help.

Just wanted to give you a little encouragement.
It is a good thing to get everything checked out and make sure all is what and where it should be.
In the mean time...
Not that I am any expert, by any means, but can I make a few suggestions?
As someone who started out with a higher BMI I understand you struggle. I fight it everyday. I could so easily eat around my surgery. I do have trouble with tougher meats or too dry but I also know what sits well and could eat a lot of the "easy" foods if I snacked all day.
Get a little notebook you can carry in your purse or pocket and just right down what you are eating and how much. I have tried the on-line journals (am a member of sparkpeople, fitday, and the daily plate) but logging on seeral times a day gets to be too much for me. The little notebook is my saving grace. In fact, I write out what I am going to eat for the day (also post it here) and then check it off as I go. I feel like I accomplished something and if I go off-course I write that down too.
Just start there so you can see after a week what it is you are eating and how much. You may find you are eating things that are "easy" and tehrefor too much of them or maybe too many white-carbs and not enough protein, etc, etc. Once it is written down there is no denying it.
This little journal may also help the doctor when you go in to see if there is a mechanical problem.
