Tuesday accountability
Almost Turkey day! How are we going to fair this year? Last year I at too much and my pouch let me know it by making me miserable the rest of the day. Gonna have to remember to take it slow and easy this year.
For today:
B-mocha protein shake
S-coffee w/ SF creamer
L-chili
S- turkey rollup w/ cream cheese
D- could have scrambled eggs again but may have some soup...depends on what the Babe wants to eat. He like to help scramble and crack open the eggs so we will probably end up with that.
S- yogurt
I am a serious night eater. Not that I wake up to eat in the night, but after dinner...I want nothing more than to graze all night. My 4 YO is doing the same thing. Only he just skips dinner altogether half the time and just wants to snack all night. A bite here, a bite there. I don't want to make food an issue but I don't know how to fix this either. If I say no he cries and says he is hungry. He is a little guy and is considered small/on the verge of under-weight for his age so I usually feel like I need to let him eat something. But then he doesn't fini**** and wants something different. this goes on 5 times a night I swear. And, being me, I hate to see food wasted. All I see is $$$ going in the trash. I know the problem is more me than him so I am trying to work on this. Last night he had 2 oatmeal cookies, ate one and then said he was done. Instead of throwing the other away or putting it in a ziploc...what did I do? I ate it. then he wants a hot dog 5 minutes later. Try to say no because he never finished eating the cookie but then give in and let him have the hot dog cause well he's hungry! See the cycle here?

Elaine,
I hear you on the nighttime grazing. It is tough here too and I don't have a 4-yr. old who needs to eat for my reasons. However, I have less and less trouble as time goes by throwing away food because of the cost. Today I had a NSV in the car eating a chocolate sf 'cupcake' on the way home from work. After eating half of it I was able to talk myself into throwing the rest away. However, there was a lot of traffic and I thought it might not be a good idea to toss it out the window. So I grabbed a tissue and mashed it up in it. Tada...inedible cupcake!
You must have lots of tiny containers for leftovers left from your early post-op days, right? Designate them for the kiddo's leftovers and maybe you can just get him to eat them the next night instead of having to waste them. Just an idea... Good luck with it, I'm rooting for you.
Busy day today, on-the-go eats but I've been good and haven't bought any more store-bought protein bars so at least there is a couple-hundred calorie savings considering I was eating two or three of them a day in the last few months.
--ff lactaid latte
--2 protein pumpkin muffins
--1/2 choc. sf 'cupcake'
--1/2 cup eggbeaters, salsa, 1 cup sf apple/tortilla rollup (ok, that was bad), squirt of low fat redi whip
--1 pkg tofu shirataki noodles, sf teriyaki sauce, 1/2 chicken sausage, celery
lots of tea, coffee w/creamer
--1 sf ice cream bar
Not the best day, but not bad for a wacko busy day.
Thanksgiving eating plans? A few ounces of turkey w/sf cranberry, some roasted veggies and then a break to get pouchie ready for the SF DESSERT FEST!!! WITH COFFEE! Yup, total rule-breaking but bwhaa, haaaa, haaa!!!!
Me gonna eat: sugar free pumpkin pie, sugar free cheesecake, sugar free orange-cheesecake-mousse pie. Little pieces but they're going in!
