Even tho we had a b-day party at work (and I brought the cupcakes so I could make sure there were some sugar free ones for me) I still had too many calories. Plus, when I get home on Mondays I am just an eating machine. The lack of control is disgusting! Mondays are the worst.

Crossing fingers and hoping for good news for you.
I get to go see the specialist on the 10th, to decide if I'm going to let them jab me with the amnio needle, due to my "advanced aged".
Can you say, "Bite me?!"

I agree, completely. Hubby and I already talked. I've waited 16 years for this, he's waited 6. Why stress ourselves with the minute chance of miscarriage, plus waiting on the return of test results. If they come back fine, you've had 1-3 weeks of additional stress for no reason. If they come back otherwise, you then have 5 more months of obsessing and worrying, and most the time, even once the baby is born it can't be evaluated for the full degree of problematic scope until they are several months to years old.
We both are against terminating for any reason other than a defect that would naturally terminate the pregnancy itself..sooooo.. why do the test? God doesn't hand you anything you can't handle.
We'll go listen to the specialist and get our options, but with Ray being 8 years younger than me, and all the new studies regarding younger male spouses and it contributing to the decrease in the "maternal age" effects, we're 99.5% sure, any amnio testing is a no go. If they can do some of the genetic testing through regular bloodwork, jab away!
