As good as I may appear to be I still have my slip-ups...my downfall is always the evening time.  Dinner goes okay...but then comes the evening 7,8,9 o'clock and I want nothing more than to munch all night.  It takes everything I have to resist it and sometimes I don't.  Of course having nothing carby in my house is helping.  I did snack at about 9:30 (I did resist for a while, even took a bubble bath, but alas it got me anyway). Had some thin turkey deli meat w/ cream cheese (onion & chive)

And we march on...

B- protein shake
S- coffee w/ sf creamer
L-more of the veggie beef stew (almost gone)
S- PB balls
D- chicken fiesta thing I made this weekend
S- yogurt w/ granola and BB's

Hope everyone is doin well.

Good choice if you have to munch!!!! I find I want sweets so I do this nukable cookie I found on Youtube using protein powder.  It actually feels like "bready" cookie when you eat it.  I like it, some may not, its very rich.  I use light butter 1 tbsp or olive oil and 1 scoop of my favorite protein powder and a couple squirts of SF syrup, mix together and nuke for 25 seconds (any more or it gets hard) it puffs up like a cookie for real.

Keep up the good work, you are doing so well and really inspiring Elaine.  I am SO happy for you.  Just think.. that turkey and cream cheese is NOTHING compared to probably what you were indulging in before you became real accountable these past two weeks right?  You are right.. marching on.  GOOD JOB! Pat on the back my friend! You day looks great...

B- So far DECAFF coffee and protein powder with SF syrup.
L - BLT Salad.  Bacon, light cheese, small squirt of ranch and the last of my home grown tomatoes.. yum can't wait.
D- taco chicken salad minus the shell, just ate the guts and a tad of sour cream with it.
S- homeade protein cookie with protein powder and some light butter and SF syrup nuked. yum
S- decaff large coffee with 2 creams and one splenda (out and about, the best choice for me)

That is it. I will run on the treadmill for 2-3 miles and do weights today.

Keep it real everyone... play with us.
Hugs, Melissa

OOOHHH how exciting! Your first foster/adopt meeting!  I remember the bundle of nerves when I went to my first!  After that first meeting though, you will feel so much better about the process.  Is it your first class or are they coming to your home for meeting/inspection?  Every sate is different but this is exciting!

I let my foster licese expire recently.  Hadn't had a placement in a while and now that my son is closing in on 5 (holy cow!) I kind of like it just being him and me for the most part (my 17 YO nephew lives with me too but he is more like  a roommate that doesn't pay rent LOL).  Bringing another little one in the house right now would add a little more chaos (good chaos) and I like focusing on just him and me right now.

OOOHHH I am sooooo excited for you.  Keep us posted!

Thanks Elaine :)

I enjoyed the class it was VERY informative and we had a good teacher which was awesome.  The one thing I wasn't prepared for is having and establishing a relationship with the birth mother.. sorta scares me.  Also to know that 83% (used to be 87%) of children in Iowa are placed back with their birth mothers.  These two things are making this a difficult decision for me but husband and I are willing to go through the 30 hours of classes and really figure it out at that point.  I am looking forward to learning more about the process.  If you have any experience with birth moms or emotional attachment with regards to having to give up a child will you let me know that was for you? I would love to know more.

Thanks for the hoorah :)  I am excited about it all!

*hugs*

p.s. again thank you for the accountability.  I had another good day today both eating and exercising.  I stuck to my plan and had a chicken taco salad for dinner but had no shell just the guts and a tad of sour cream no dressing.  was delish!

It isn't too scary.  Sounds like it would be but for the most part it isn't.  I'll send you a PM cause there are privacy issues for the kids to be concerned about otherwize I'd be braggin' all about it all over the world!
