Striking Back At Cold!

Today I took a proactive stance against COLD!    No matter how insane the neighbours must think I am (and several of them slowed down when they drove by the house) I got out there today with the ladder and put up the Christmas lights.  Woohoo!!!!  One neighbour was even so kind as to shout out (jokingly) that it was three months till Christmas actually.

Normally, I get a headcold in the fall and then when I have waited long enough to put up the lights, end up doing it on a day when the eaves are dripping or it is raining and I get soaked.  Chilled to the bone and cussing my stupidity the whole while and then vowing to do it earlier next year.  Well I finally did it early!  hahaha

Also done today: planting bulbs, pulling weeds, watering new shrubs, long day at work and shopping too.

As soon as I pick up teenagers from a movie tonight I plan on collapsing and getting some sleep.

So the neighbors think that you're INSANE!     I sooo want to move next door to you!!!

Perhaps you should "Trick Out" Halloween by having the full display turned on for the kiddies.  Now that's something that you don't see every day!

You'll be happy when the evil decoration winter cold gives you a break this year...

Let them stare!

Oh, I soooo missed a great opportunity there....I should have been playing Christmas carols out the front door while I was doing the lights.

Love the colors and the graphics, btw!

I want to get the Halloween stuff in swing around here and buy my AirHead supply tomorrow!

When do you actually start Christmas shopping and how do you "know" what to buy?  I'm just OK with gift... mostly because the Guys have asked for $$$$ over the years, which takes the JOY out of it for me.  I still buy gifts for them.  Lately, even the earlier scheduling of our Christmas Party to fit everyone's schedule is feeling LAME!  I miss the REAL Christmas time... of our earlier years!

I'm on a mission to bring IT back!  HoHoHo

Usually I start buying for Christmas at the after Christmas sales.  I have a pine blanket chest with a hasp and padlock on it where I start collecting things as I find them.  This time of year I have a fairly good stash accumulated and then start seperating gifts into sort of piles so I know how I'm doing as far as fairness.  You know?  Also I seperate out the stocking stuffers.  DH and I aren't big wage earners and we enjoy the lifestyle we have but it does mean that I need to get things ahead of time and space out the spending so it doesn't come down to a big crunch at Christmas.  Makes for nice holidays!

The larger your family gets with grandbabies the more your REAL Christmases will return.  There's just something so wonderful about being with children at Christmas and sharing that joy and wonder with them.

Ho ho ho!

Molly

I wish that I'd asked you sooner... such a good idea!  I like the pile fairness aspect and that you can get a breather as Christmas nears.  It must make for a much more enjoyable season.

I'm hoping that the Grands make our small group appreciate the meaning of Family and Christmas.  Giving $$$ is a bummer.   Bright Eyes and Surprises are better!

Ho Ho Ho!

HeHeHe...    Thanks...

BTW, the Honey Crisps were delicious!  Their market bin was almost empty so the word about their taste is already "out"!  I am hoping to get a larger supply this week... price was $1.29 / Lb.

Really Delish Snack!  I was surprised to see how few Honey Crisps were left compared to the other varieties.  Could be the short season... Thanks for the tip on them.  I can see why you bought the bushel!
