Helllllo!  Hope you had a great Thursday!!  Today has flown by, I had my interview today, I believe it went well.  I gave them 200% *ME* and if they like me then they will give me a second interview with just the surgeons and the primary doctor.  If not, I am ok with that too.  It was a long 2 hours for an interview and my brain was mush when it was said and done.

So how did ya do today?  Are you feeling more motivated???? Get motivated with me!!

Eats:

Breakfast: EAS Cafe Caramel RTD Shake

Snack: Grande SF Iced Vanilla Latte with Soy from Crackbucks (have one at my work!)

Lunch: 2 cups romaine, 5 oz ground beef (rinsed before adding taco seasoning), 1 oz regular fat cheddar cheese and 2 tbsp of regular fat dressing.

Dinner: ?

Snack: Protein Shake of some kind.

I haven't logged any of this into fitday but I plan to stay within my limitations of 1200-1400 calories, 120+ grams of protein and I haven't eaten any bad carbs today! Yeah!

Water: Working on it.  I am up to 40 oz, need 60 more, argh!!! I will do it!

Vitamins: Good, need to take my night time ones and I will before bed.

Exercise:  I took the dogs for a walk around town.  My new puppy is only 4 lbs so he walks slow but its something!!

How did you do today?????
Hugs, Melissa

Hi Diana!!!

WOW you did awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so happy for you!! The first few days are the hardest but you can do it.. WE can do it.  Looks like only you and are logging right now.. don't let that detour you.  We can do it together and maybe it will inspire others to join us!  I would love to see more but ok with just the two of us if that is what happens.

Are you getting in enough protein. Remember protein and good fats fill us up and keep us satisfied and carbs can trigger other directions esp if its refined carboyhrates (white stuff).. which I know you already know.

Water water water... I am finding if i drink decaff coffee between meals it helps me a lot  Prob not the best idea but I do it and I count it as water too, I try to get plain water in 64 oz a day also.  It's hard.

Ok, I will be back later tonight to check in with you and anyone else that wants to get accountable.

Try to get some exercise in and take those vitamins!

SEE YOU TONIGHT! :)  Am I being too hardcore?

I think we need the kick in the pants. I wanna kick my own pants lol.

Hugs!  Happy Friday!

Hi Ro!

Yeah no pic yet.. I got a new computer.. a mac!  I have no idea how to crop pictures on here and I mistakenly took my old one off and that pic is on my other computer! GO figure! Aaron is gonna help me this weeked with a new pic (i hope anyways!)

The interview went well.  It was almost 2 hours long. Holy cow was I exhausted after it was all said and done!!! I should know in a couple weeks if I get a second interview or not.  If I do it will be with the two surgeons and the PCP (who is my pcp who has also had RNY) lol..

I don't have a lot of management experience nor buisness experience with budgets and using programs like Excel, which I was honest about and I also told them I do want to have kids soon.  So all of that could hurt me.  But one thing is for sure, they knew good and well that I am passionate about bariatrics.  :)  If I don't get the job I am not upset, I love the job I am in right now and the one I have works great with raising children and gives us more money as Aaron won't have to give up any of his jobs to stay home with the kids as he would have to do if I got this new job.. It is in God's hands and I am leaving it at that.  I pray he guides me to the path I am chosen to take.  I have full trust in him that he will do just that.  They also know I woud sacrafice a lot personally to leave my present job.. b/c of my awesome schedule.. and I told them that.  I was completely HONEST with them.  So if they choose me its b/c they like *me* which is the only way I will have it.

I hope you are having a good week and have a good weekend too! Update me when u can!

Hugs!

Everything sounds like the real deal from you... They've got to be impressed that you are a straight shooter and know what you want!

It would be a big change giving up your schedule so I'm glad that you are keeping your eye on the future... including your "family"!!!

I heard recently that the difference in salaries between men and woman is about $0.23 less for woman per hour.  Not sure if this is correct.   If you have been given an idea of the salary already, you might want to recalculate it to reflect the MAN'S worth... and make that $$$$ part of your negotiations for the job.  IF the budget has the money for a man's salary, it doesn't vanish when a woman is hired!!!!  You can always get the necessary computer training.  I have a feeling that your cross-over work experience should suffice in the management and general budget areas.  Many applicants "fudge" their ability and then adjust on the job... with the heads understanding this up-front.  There is no harm in pressing for the extra money!  It shows that you are grounded in the reality of today's economy.

Whatever happens... I know that you will continue to help WLS patients... It is your calling!
Hugs... Back at Ya!
