Ok Ladies (and GentleMAN)
Hello Everyone!
Alright... I have been going back reading the posts and it seems we are all having some food issues... Am I correct????
Ok.. ready for the stern side of me to come out? Are ya ready??? Because this is for ME too....
1) Enough shoveling in of food unless its on your PLAN. Yes plan, you must make a plan. Committ to sitting down and planning your food intake for the next day. If it is NOT on your plan then you cannot have it, Capiche?
2) Get MOVING.. I am also screaming at myself here! I have been SOOOOO laxed on exericise lately its pathetic! Soon it will be winter and even harder to get outside, enjoy while we can people!!!
3) Get tha****er in, ditch the soda, yes even diet. Our bodies need clean, fresh water. PERIOD. You can do it! I can do it too (I need to!)
4) Stop the emotinonal eating battle... do something else to deal with your emotions rather than raid the fridge. Put a picture of yourself preop and your ARC's from Beck on the fridge as a reminder why this surgery and maintaining your weight loss is SO important!
5) Take your vitamins so your body isn't craving nutrients.
6) Have good snacks available, cut up veggies, light string cheese etc to grab for instead of the junk. Just b/c u don't dump doesn't mean u should be sugar loading!
7) Be good to yourself, take time to meditate, journal, self reflect and appreciate the smaller things in life, also your family and friends. Remember why you had this surgery in the first place.
I will be coming around more for me and for you... you guys do the same ok? Time to get serious before we go the wrong direction like many do postop this point out. Let's get real people... we need to!
My interview is tomorrow... I am having it in front of a panel of physicians, administrators and nurses.... wish me luck!
I will be back on tomorrow to check in... get ready for daily accountability, brought to you by Mel ;o)
Love you guys! ((((Group hug)))) we are in this together... recommit with me!

Thanks Melissa..I needed to read this. I could see my name behind every sentence as it is everything I have been doing. Sad thing is I even thought maybe I should start drinking diet soda so I drink more..I know I need to drink WATER, WATER, WATER!!! Vitamins..haha. I did buy a new bottle..yes they are unopened. The list goes on and on..I am the ONLY one that can make a change for ME and I need to quit making excuses. I am hurting no one but myself and for what..a piece of pie...is that pie worth it..NO it is not and I need to remember that. I sooo miss this board and I know I need to get back and post more and be more accountable to ME!!
THANKS SOOO MUCH Melissa.
I will be thinking of you tomorrow.

Glad you are wanting the accountability Diana! I do too, we all do, lets face it. This journey doesn't get easier but we also need to be grown up about it. You are right, we hurt nobody but ourselves! I know I sure didn't get on that operating table and have my guts rearranged with possible vitamin deficiences in the future just to gain the weight back AND deal with that. I shoulda stayed obese if I wanted to play that game... ya know?
I am gonna be on tomorrow. Sit down tonight Diana and make your plan for tomorrow. It is time to GET REAL with ourselves.
Share your goals if you want to.
I am going for 120-140 grams of protein, 1200-1400 calories, limit my carbs till my snack monster goes back to hiding, get my carbs from soy, hood milk/dairy, and nonstarchy veggies ONLY, 100 oz of water minimum, all vitamins taken and do SOME form of activity tomorrow even if its walking 3 miles.
Be ready... "I'll be back!!!"

Hey, Marsha... I am forcing myself to NOT get back on the scale after 1 READING. Also not weighing very often, as it is a head jammer! If you do not log, you might want to figure 1 oz of "meat" (1/4 of you palm) , 1 egg, 1 oz cheese (basic string cheese portion), or 1 yogurt to equal 7 grams of protein. I still weigh most of my foods with a digital scale, unless it is in single portions or has a reliable serving listed. Fitday.com and SparkPeople.com are used by many of us here... You might want to check them out! Keep up the battle against REGAIN!!! Good Job!!!

I guess as the gentleMAN, I need to respond.
I hope nobody hates me, but I'm having a difficult time staying at the weight at which I'm most healthy. I ran at 155 for quite some time. Long enough that I stopped weighing myself. One day, a few friends that I hadn't seen for a while both commented that I was looking a little too thin. Thinking it was just that they were only used to seeing me as a large person, I kind of blew it off. Until I checked the scales and found that I was down to 142. I started pounding the protein shakes (three 50 gram shakes a day), and adding on a few extra calories of good stuff (not fat or sugar). And I'm back up to 147 now.
I'll get a picture to show everyone soon and you can all tell me if you think I'm looking like a survivor of Buchenwald.
Again, please don't hate me if you're struggling to keep it off.... the pendulum has swung to the other side for me and I may be in need of some support and help, too.
Lub y'all,
Steve

Hi Steve!
Great to hear from you!
You look terrific, I eat quite a bit to maintain my weight. If I ate 1200 cals everyday like most do (women after RNY) id be very thin. Saw PS yesterday.. he said maintain at 140 as I have 10-15 lbs of skin, I was shocked!
I don't hate you one bit, we all have our problems in different ways.
Hugs and love,
Melissa

My surgeon's office sponsored a Health Expo and part of it was a fashion show using his patients as models. Here's a link to a picture of me on the "catwalk"...
Does anyone think I'm too skinny (as most of my compatriots do)?
