OK... not so good eats are more interesting, Right?
A diner's fried sampler would go in that category. Yeah, I shared some of it, but I ate some of it.
No real upset, but it threw my Fat % off the chart... almost 1/2 nutrition from fats... not so good.
The sampler was a "chaser" to that day's meals. Honestly, we stopped on the way home and shared a small NF soft serve ice cream too. Now that I had my fill of fried food for a while, here's Wednesday's Eats...
Chicken and protein pasta covered in spaghetti sauce w/ grated cheese.... and 8 oz of watermelon for "Breakfast" at 5:30 AM (???)
Grabbed an Atkins Peanut Butter Crisp for a snack... which adds sat. fat and trans fats and messes up my protein count for the day...
There were the pancakes w/ SF syrup that I almost ate for lunch, but DS got those! I had 1 bite.. 30 calories.. and moved on to the odd combo of Babybel light, oat bran pretzels, mashed potatoes, and watermelon (again).
So what could be more interesting than to do it again... Well, I changed it up by eating skirt steak, oat bran pretzels, mashed potatoes, and yes... the "W" again.
Snacks... hummmm.... There was a mini popcorn, 2 Fudgsicles, a pickle, 1 c of farina, a LS oatmeal w/ extra sweeteners, and a Nature Valley Almond nut crunch bar (200 calories, but full of nutrients... my "peanut brittle")
The totals... including the ICBIN... Butter... were about 1963, which wasn't such a good year...
I don't care that my carbs were 279g or that my fats were 59g because my pie chart was in balance. Now the protein range that I'm supposed to follow is 75 - 80g Soooo 90 was up there a bit. I'll have to be careful for the rest of the week, if my average is going to drop that # into the mid-80s.
I'm still bouncing around with my weight and still weighing my food with the digital scale. If your eating what I'm eating, you might see a "gain"... At some point, I will have to back-off because I WILL gain too... it's just a matter of time.
Now... with all that said... these are the ranges that I BELIEVE that I was supposed to eat as a Dec. 06 post-op...
1000-1100 calories
100-120 carbs (120 is brain friendly)
25-50g total fat (max 10 saturated fat... skip the trans fats)
and yes, the much debated... 50-70g protein range that's been Dr. / Nut. recommended
How's your EATS???? Honestly, Did You Eat Bacon Last Week??? I DID...
Am I still allowed to play with you guys???
XOXOXO

My goodness, you won't want to be playing with me when I list today's eats. There was quite a bit of pity-party eating going on here.
1) lactaid latte then 2 bran muffins
2) 3 oz. chicken, 2 T lf ranch dressing
3) those grazed 2 cups quinoa w/1/4 cup sf maple syrup
4)2 oz. soy crisps (grazed again)
5) 1/2 cup real nsa ice cream in cone
6) 1 cup protien ice cream in cone
7) planned for later 1/2 serving cc pancakes (maybe)
calories: 136
carbs: 152
fats: 24
protein: 96
I'm supposed to stay at 1200 calories and protein at 70-90. No guidance on fats or carbs, just to keep them low. In a perfect world I'd keep my carbs under 100 but Melissa has pointed out often enough that there is really good sound nutritional data to say that we need a minimum of 130 just to keep our brains going. Unfortunately, my brain would be happiest on all carbs and nothing but carbs if I let it.
Molly, NO BACON!

You made WAFFLES and SAUSAGES and DIDN'T EAT THEM!!! How did you DO THAT???
You know, Mols... Your calories look a bit low today... 136???
The ranges that you use are in-line with what I was told to expect for "WLS Life". I add farina at the end of a lot of nights (taken without calcium... but with Vit C) to keep my iron level OK. Farina has 20% RDA of iron.... add salt and ICBIN..Butter and I'm in love with it. Not as healthy that way, but how else would I eat it! I've been told to keep an eye on the "copper" level too, as some WLS patients get too low (nerve damage); adding nuts seems to keep my labs "mid-normal".
I love NSA ice cream! I knew that I shouldn't have tried it!!! How's your freezer supply?? I'll help you lower the volume. Sweets are a bit EVIL that way. BTW, I now consider my 2-3 snacks "grazing approved". I just say that it's a Snack... not grazing... Hey, it works for me!
I have you beat in the over-eating department, Girlfriend! DH & I ate Chinese (the lunch-size portion) yesterday and I ate the whole thing!!!
B: Cinnamon Life (dry)... then Quaker LS maple & brown sugar (sweets)
L: the whole foil container of Chinese... OK... I left a little Pork Fried Rice at the bottom...
D: Guilt Attack??? 1/2 oz peanuts, 1 corn muffin, ICBIN...Butter spread, NF yogurt
S: WHAT was I thinking??? another corn muffin w/ ICB..., 1 Fudgsicle, mini popcorn, 2% string cheese, and 1 oz oat bran pretzels
After eating the Chinese, I though "oink"... I was stuffed..., but managed to eat the muffins.. hmmm...
So I DID lower my protein level... but I thought too much for just one day. Glad to see your range on proteins is close to mine. Yesterday I only ate 68g... so close enough.
calories: 1901
carbs: 261
fats: 68 (not a typo)
protein: 68
sat. fat: 9 (this does not seem correct to me either)
"Oink"... Ro
