Well atleast this week I am going in the RIGHT direction. I am REALLY trying to make better choices but sometimes I wish my leg was a little longer so I could kick myself in the A$$ on what I do...

I am hoping for another drop this week..I need to get the rest of this weigh OFF.
Have a great week and hugs to ALL of you!!!

Good Going on the 2 LB Loss!!!

Hope that you feel better.  I've been under the weather too!  Blah!

Here are some of my "go to" foods that seem to be pretty good choices (so far)...
Quaker LS Maple & Brown Sugar oatmeal w/ 2 pack of sweetener
Snyder's pretzel sticks (pumpernickel, oat, or bran) and 1 oz 2% cheese
watermelon or red grapes
NF yogurt and blueberries

Hey, I was "bad" this week... and dragging my feet about replying.  I'm up 2 Lbs (Real or TOM?)
2 words... Fried Foods

Aw Ro, sorry both you and Diana haven't felt well.  Hope it is better soon and hope your 2# comes off along with my 4#.

Loved the go-to list.  You know I have looked for those pretzel sticks around town and all I can find is white-flour stuff except one store that carries a Newman's Own brand of Spelt (or Teff?) pretzels.  They are a bit too nommy for me to have in the house.

Go-to's that help me cope are my homemade bran muffins lately.  They feel so 'carby' and satisfying while having good fiber and low calories.  Also really getting into the protein ice creams now.  For awhile I got really bad about having an nsa ice cream cone every night and then it was more than once a night, etc.  So now I have my freezer fairly well stocked with the protein ice creams and it is going good.

I figure, I can't seem to control my grazing so the next best thing is to plan safer food choices.  It ain't a perfect solution but at least it is a coping strategy for now.

Hugs!
Molly
ps....I can get diarrahea from just thinking of eating fried foods....too bad you don't too, it is an excellent avoidance motivator

ALERT!!! ALERT!!!    Diarrhea as a motivator

  Thanks, but NO thanks!!!

ps... I forgot that fried foods could cause IT!   Glad that I dodged that bullet...

The Snyder's Organics (Honey Wheat / Oat Bran) taste better to me than their "non-organic", which is basically a thicker stick.  (1 organic = 2g / 1 "non" = 4g on the digital scale)  There is a taste difference... crisper too.   You probably don't have a Shoprite nearby, but they carry them by me.  Maybe contacting Snyder's site would help you locate them... Yum... don't forget the Pumpernickel ones (only in 4g / "non-organic) as it is a good go to snack or bread alternative, when eaten with meats.

I'm a Fudgsicle Girl... can't risk bringing ice cream (even NSA) into the house too often!

We are on the same page with the Planned Safer Foods vs Grazing.  I think that it is the most realistic way to go!

You are doing great.......2 lbs is better than nothing and it's the start to a better way of eating.

I think my scale is stuck on 176 lbs--it does not move up or down and that makes me very happy.

My weight has been so up and down for the last few months.  I was done to 140.  I know they say when you plateau you will actually gain back about 10lbs.  Well I am NOT ok with that.  I got up to 150.
I am now down to 142 and hoping to at least get down to 140.  I swear if I ever get into the 130's I am just going to have to dance!!

Excellent Drop in Weight Terisa!

You must be so happy with the results... and wearing smaller sizes again!

For a while I was worried that the regains might stick like Gorilla Glue, but you're living proof that they can disappear again.   One more reason to not get depressed over a gain, but to get motivated to lose it.    8 Lbs is nothing to sneeze at... go dance in the streets now!!!

Proud of U!

Ya know, Terisa....I think I really don't like 'they'.    Like you, I am not ok with my gainback and want to get myself motivated and working harder to get this regain gone.  You are a great inspiration getting so much of yours gone already, I will try to keep you in my mind this week whenever I want to be grazing.  It always used to be such a good motivator for me in the first year postop to think of what Melissa was doing so well and some of the other regulars from the RNY board back then.  I need that kind of concentration again!

Hey, go ahead and dance now I agree with Ro that you have earned it.  Besides, dancing is good exercise and may help you get to those 130's!

Hugs for you too!
Molly

Yeah, Diana!!!    That's me toasting your protein shake with my protein ice cream cone, as it were.   Way to go on the 2# loss and I hope it is really contagious.  I want to get back to that 139 I had last week.  My TOM is done now and no excuses..   And i'm soooo with you on wanting to kick myself in the butt too.  Have been depressed and had a bad day today and wanted to graze but tried to sleep instead.  (Came home from work with a migraine and it is getting better now.)

Was a complete idiot today...wanting some 'comfort' food and chose to cook a small pot of quinoa and then proceeded to eat about 2 (unmeasured!) cups of it throughout the afternoon.  Just logged it on my sparkpeople account and about fell out of the chair to learn one cooked cup has 222 calories.

Do you think the uncooked quinoa would be safe to feed the birds?    The dog is going to get the rest of the cooked stuff, I can't be trusted around it now that I know how dangerous it is.

Have a great week and don't cook yourself any quinoa, ok?  Hugs!!!
