The Wagon Plan
Wow...have you checked this out yet?
http://thewagonplan.wordpress.com/
In working at making myself spend more time on OH for motivation, I ran across a post on the gb forum that had this link and I was just blown away! It took a couple of times listening to it to grasp most of what he was saying (go to the YouTube links in his webpage) because it is all scientific stuff. Melissa, you probably have already seen this because I see you referring to some of the same info he did.
Not sure if I am smart enough to live on this plan but if I could, it would certainly ensure lifelong success!

I am going to have to check this out
I did a quick read but did no****ch the video as I did not have the extra time right now(I need the Cliff note version of it).
Thanks Molly for posting this..I am trying to read more here also as I need MAJOR modivation also. BUT all I have been finding on the main board recently is the HUGE fight going on between a few groups of people (can I saw I am APPAULED that OH has left some of the postings up).
I had a "Moms Night Out" here last nigh and I threw away the leftover KeyLime Pie, sent the chocolate home with someone and pitched the bread and dip and taco dip. I did keep the corn and black bean salsa and Gaucamole I made..If anyone needs a REALLY good recipe for either let me know as it is the first time I made this recipe for both and OMG it was GOOD. I also did Cucumber sandwiches on the PFarm thin bread and they were wonderful..we won't talk about the Margaritas as my head still hurts this morning
Hugs
Diana
Hooray for getting rid of your good leftovers, Diana! Thanks for the heads up about the main board, I don't go there often and especially stay away when they are feuding.
I would love to see your Guac. recipe...that is the only way DH will eat avacados and even tho they are so high in calories they are good for you too. There is one hanging around my kitchen this weekend waiting to be eaten. I got some sprouts and a ww pita and will have a splurge of a veggie sandwich today or tomorrow. (grazing on Costco strawberres right now)
It's going to be 100 today...I have a fan aimed right at my computer.

Wow, Diana... Your "Moms Night Out" sounds Great... good food & friends! I'd love the recipes too!
What happened with the Margaritas... was it too much sugar? too much in general?
I've only had "some" wine and sangria only since WLS.
There seems to be too much member bashing on OH... too bad... very sad... That's why I love it HERE!
You'll really like the videos!

I think its a very sound plan but for me the carbs would be too high I think because of cravings.. Gosh I wish I could get that figured out. Maybe I will give it a try once I get stabalized here. I haven't seen the youtube videos of his, interested in seeing them. I have went to his website and followed his posts a lot. He gets a lot of slack on OH and almost left a couple times. Too bad, he has a lot of sound advice backed by good research and data to support his nutritional and exercise/workout claims. Many I do agree with I just wish my body would let me go there.. maybe its something I am doing wrong? who knows..
I can't hear the videos as the sound is messed up on my computer but will want to see them as soon as I get that fixed or get my new computer.. its an apple! I wanna try it as I am into the ipod stuff a lot now.
I will have to look at this more.. thanks for the link! Are you gonna try it?
Hi Mel,
I figured he must be pretty active on the internet with a wls site somewhere as much as he has educated himself on nut. I don't know if I will all-out try his plan but am going to try to rethink my meals to make them more balanced as he said. At the very least, that is a good way to keep conscious of what I'm putting in my body and that's a good thing!
When he talks about maintaining blood sugar levels I really thought about you and wondering if watching the combination of proteins and complex carbs would help you. He probably gets a lot of flack from the 5DPT people because in the video he alludes to concerns about that plan just backfiring when you go off of it.
The stuff about the body feeding the fat cells was so fascinating and the way he put the info about exercising being the way to get the body to open up and rid the fat cells made so much sense. I mean, it is the same stuff I've heard for years but the way he put it just came out better.
When do you get your new computer? Hope it will be soon! Sounds fun. I am trying to wrap my non-techno brain around finding a way to download his videos and put them on my Zune. Bet it can be done!

Hi Molls --
I do think its *ALL* about maintaining blood sugar levels.. doesn't matter if we are or once were diabetic or not. We all have fluctuating blood sugars when we eat in response to the various foods we consume. How do I know it had to be about blood sugars? I have been doing an Atkins approach for a week now.. I have had ZERO hunger. This never happens for me. So obviously my blood sugars are stable. I have even been testing them in the AM's to see where they are.. always high 70's, low 80's. I even test at night.. same thing.. there is no bouncing.
Now with his plan he has a rule of double the carbs or something for the protein value but always putting them together and he doesn't always follow whole grains approach. He himself will eat white carbs and he can handle it that way. He also works out a decent about. I do agree that once you eat.. you shouldn't eat again for at least a couple hours but I think 4 is best. Anything u eat above and beyond what the body needs at that point in time will turn it into fat, it just doesn't need the energy if you have already fed the body (again I have not viewed the youtube videos but have researched and talked to james via email a few times and just going off what he has said and what his website says).
I should be getting a new computer here in a few days to a week I think. I am excited but never used an apple.. I have an Ipod nano that i use to workout with and got a free ipod Touch.. it is awesome! You can sink your email, other's calendars to your own device, get on the internet.. its nice! Many perks.. very nice to have life organized in a small compact thing.. even grocery lists, address book etc. No sylus.. just touch method.
Ok, what is Zune, you have me interested! Hope you are enjoying your weekend.. I really need to do a Beck review.. gosh where did we leave off? I will have to go back and look.. sad to say. Talk to you soon.. be well.
