My Dad
Long story SHORT...my dad fell down the steps around 5 weeks ago and hit his head. When he went to the ER they found 3 bleeds in his brain..he was in the hospital for 2 weeks (1 in a rehab part) and then came here for a week then home for 2 days and then in a nursing home in there rehab part. He has went downhill since he was released...last week he went back in the hospital and they found the bleeds have DOUBLED. His options were brain surgery or hospice...he has been down to long and is 86 and has not walked for so weeks we chose Hospice as we know that is what he wants. My mom passed away in Sept and they were married over 50 years...he so misses my mom and wants to be with her.
He is basically sleeping and not very responsive at all. He made a few sounds a few when you talked to him a few days ago but today he basically has just slept.
I am asking for prayers that my dad stays painfree and is with my mom of a beautiful beach soon.
I am a emotional eater and this has been so hard..it brings ALL the memories of what we went through last year with my mom. I am sooo trying to stay on track. I might not be posting much but I have been reading when I have a extra minute.
I did find a protein powder that I LIKE..I read about it on the main board. It is called DESSERT and I bought the Banana cream and Chocolate coconut so I have been having this each morning I bought it at Vitacost.com. (14.99 a tub)
Thanks
Diana
Diana,
So sorry to hear of the struggles that you and your family are going through. What a painful emotional journey for you. I know that hospice will take wonderful care of him and of you and it would make it a little easier knowing that this is what he would want since he loved your mother so much.
My friend spent 3 weeks with her father in hospice and he passed away a month ago. Last week her son passed away unexpectedly. Jus****ching the pain that she is experiencing helps me to understand what you are going through. My heart goes out to you and anyone who is going through the loss of a parent.
You are in my thoughts and prayers,
Terisa

Diana... I am so sorry that this is your dad's time to pass... Hospice will ease him on his journey... I pray for his safe and peaceful passage and for strength for you and your family... (tearful...) Ro
To being with the love of his life on the beach walking hand in hand...
Diana, I have been holding you and your dad in my heart and prayers and will continue. This is such sad news but I hope that God will help you get through this with the love of your family and any support we can offer here.
Hang in there and keep using your new better protein powders, knowing you are doing something good for yourself during this sad stressful time is a good thing.
Very big hugs,
Molly
